Excellent and fresh produce. They even have cactus pears, it is so hard to find this fruit anywhere. Amazing quality! Even the blueberries were big and sweet. The owner was nice and let me take a picture of their pita factory in the store. #1 Pita in Calgary. Definetly RECOMMEND!
International food, fresh meat and fruit from the farms. Good prices. Interesting alternative to the usual markets in Calgary. Large parking lot just in front of it.
I’ve been going shopping with my family to places that sell halal meats/products in Calgary and this is hands down the best store to go. We’ve been loyal customers for the past 2 years and shopping there on monthly basis. They have the freshest pita breads they baked them in the store, you can watch the process through the glasses wall, rotisserie chickens only available after 2pm and very limited amount and a lot of options for hand cut meats goats, lambs, beef and chicken from local farmers. And mostly fresh, not frozen. The frozen ones just only fishes, kebabs and some bone marrows in the frozen area. It took 20-30 minutes driving there, but really worth the trip.
I bought clarified butter and found it was all rusted inside. This is a serious health hazard. I feel like NE doesn’t belong to Canada because they get away with all illegal stuff. Health Canada or Local health authorities don’t bother to perform inspection in this place. Don’t go to this cheater store. All the rejected, expired and third grade quality products are imported into Canada. Such a shame!
My first experience of shopping at Basha and it came out genuinely nice. Decent quality products and the prices as compared to other grocery stores. The quality of the meat and the options available are excellent and at a much better price. Nice clean environment and particularly good customer service which I always look for when I shop. From now on I will make Basha my regular store for future grocery shopping and would highly recommend others to try them out.
Basha Foods is an amazing grocery store and so much more. Prices are more than fair, their bakery is incredible the current remodelling so that you can now see the bakery is fascinating and fresh every day! They're my number one stop for spices, canned goods, produce, etc. you simply won't find anywhere else. Frequent weekly sales are excellent value! Highly recommend!
Basha Foods has amazing produce and meats. All meat is halal and veggies are very fresh along with their baked in house pita bread which you can see them being baked in store! It's so cool! I love the variety of foods, from canned to spices, and pre-made meals, there is always a deal to be had. What a great grocery store to have available in Calgary. Worth checking out for the great prices.
Everything has been so tasty and fresh and we are already looking forward to make our next order of fruits and vegetables.
The store has a variety of products. I like the fact that they produce the bread in-house. This way you can guarantee fresh bread. The team in the shop are helpful and nice. I have one comment on their butchery, the meat there is a hit an miss. I bought minced meat and looked red but once I got home from the inside it was brown. It looks like they mixed the old meat with new fresh one.
I had a bad experience with this grocery, 2 weeks ago I bought a product from here and I found the same one in the other Mediterranean grocery for the half price, so today I passed by for shopping and I asked why this big difference the manager !!! gave me an excuse that maybe the other grocery is buying a big quantity the other grocery is very small !!! and the cashier told me go buy from there if you don’t like our prices! Bad customer services. Just check the prices before you buy the difference wasn’t 1$ or 2$ it was a double.
