My friend and I stopped here by chance on a busy Monday for lunch time and their outdoor terrace was what attracted us to sit down for a meal. The staff was very friendly and the food was quite delicious. The appetizers were tasty not shown in photos, but we ordered focaccia, burrata, prosciutto & the cocktails were good too, so the overall experience was enjoyable. Unfortunately, one out of two pasta dishes was undercooked too hard to chew but the other one was a true al dente cooked to perfection. For the price we paid around $58 per person, tax and tips included, we were expecting flawless pasta dishes to blow us away, but in our case, the appetizers stole the spotlight. I would personally give here another chance sometime in the future due to the overall pleasant experience.
The food was delicious, but the service was quite slow and less attentive because they prioritized the terrace. There were so many servers and all of them were basically always outside. We went for lunch/brunch on a Saturday. There was no need to wait and we immediately got a place inside just next to the window. There, the tables are quite small and can maximum welcome three persons. The waitress only gave us one menu for three, not a very good start. After we ordered a pistachio latte and a normal latte, we had to chase after our waitress to order. All their attention was on the terrace. The lattes were given in glasses that weren't made for lattes/coffee. They don't keep the warmth of the drinks as long, so our drinks got cold in minutes. After we finally got our orders in, our knives were dirty. Fortunately, the food quickly arrived. The big salad Cesar was good and creamy. Their small pasta was a small portion but delicious. I think the pasta was made fresh and was cooled al dente. The focaccia was fluffy and soft and full of toppings. Overall, the food was tasty and the prices aren't overpriced. I liked the half portion sizes. The service, however, was the biggest disappointment.
Full of amorous feeling of Italian restaurant. A great handmade pasta. Order seafood pasta with original taste, not white sauce. only simple and plain olive oil with some seafood soup , never overpowering, very appetizing.
Very nice wine selection, including orange wines. Their daily baked fresh focaccia is as well as the fried olives. Good service and nice ambiance.
This place is always buzzing every time I walk past by, so I decided to give it a try. Cons: Salty, expensive, food quantity, okay service and flies/insects everywhere on the bread they serve. Pros: still pondering about it. I hate to give bad reviews on a restaurant; however, everyone is spending their hard-earned money at the end of the day. So better be transparent on the reviews.
This is the “new” hotspot in St Henri! My friend and I went on a Wednesday night just after 7pm and it was super packed with a lineup. They were so nice and allowed us to wait behind the bar near the espresso machine. The bartender Chloe took really good care of us. We were able to have wine, fried olives and their homemade focaccia delicious! to tide us over. We waited just about an hour and sat at a communal table no dividers. What I loved is they offer half portions at very reasonable prices for their homemade pasta. I had the creamy pesto and it was amazing. We also shared a roquette salad which I found lacked flavour and was quite bitter but my friend enjoyed it. We also shared the tiramisu which was excellent. Good vibes and food all around!
My friend shared a post on Instagram of an event they did during covid and started it again this month. Walk/run a certain distance to get rewards to help people motivate and better themselves. Who doesn't love coffee, wine and food eh? As an avid runner I've abused it a little but was lucky to try many dishes already, the restaurant is amazing, I've been there at breakfast and lunch time, the staff are genuine and friendly people. Very community orientated business which I love and glad I've found this gem of a place! Merci for the challenge, motivated me to run 70km in two days haha.
Great atmosphere and great music. Unfortunately that's the only thing positive to say about BarBara. The focaccia is made in-house and was tasteless.
I went to this establishment on Saturday shortly after noon for lunch. I hadn't been to this restaurant before but saw it when I was walking down the street and decided to give it a try. My goodness, the food and service was incredible! I ordered Focaccia and Parmesan Fries to start, and it was absolutely delicious! So much cheese, and the fries were so crispy! I didn't expect to get such a large portion for an appetizer but I wasn't complaining at all. For lunch I had the Casarecce Cacio e Pepe, which was incredible. It wasn't traditionally made which is typically dryer, but I think this was better! So rich and creamy - and the noodle choice was perfect. I want to say that my server - I think his name was Kevin? Was one of the best servers I've had in any restaurant. 10/10 - would go again.
Really good pasta and virgin drinks. I was very pleased by the decor, the staff and the food. I recommend this place to anyone craving fresh pasta!
