Asahi Restaurant and Bar

I had three visits to Asahi just before New Years with mixed results. The first visit was for lunch and I enjoyed my Hibachi with steak and shrimp and my wife loved the pork fried rice and dumplings. The next visit was takeout with crab Rangoon, fried rice, chicken fingers and pork fried rice. They did not pack any sweet sauce and it really ruined the meal for us. The last chance I gave them was takeout on a Friday night... I called ahead and ordered Hibachi, steamed dumplings, fried rice.... the Hibachi meal is served in a large tray with separate compartments for the rice, veg, shrimp and steak BUT the put it in the bag sideways and all the food fell down to the bottom of the container and ruined the meal! They also said 20 minuets and it was almost an hour! I do not recommend this place!

Ordered delivery online to Sleep Inn (about 3.5 miles away) around 7pm, food arrived in about 30 min. Got Lemongrass hot and sour seafood soup, Asahi Roll, Nigi Hama roll, and the agehashi tofu. Highlight would be the lemongrass soup, the only actual seafood in the pint were two pieces of shrimp and scallop, but the soup as a whole was delicious. Low point would be the agehashi tofu, just name it for what it is: fried tofu, because that was all it was, don't give it a fancy name and mislead customers.

Very good sushi! This is no doubt the best spot in Derry. You get the biggest sushi for the price! So fresh! Wish I could eat this everyday!! When I go I always order the LUNCH SPECIAL 3 any rolls for ~$13. Such a sweet deal!!
