The team tries hard to serve delicious food. Decent size of chips and fish served with freshly prepared salad. Overall, customer service is good. People, who visit the place need to manage their expectations and leave their attitude behinds. If you are after traditional tasty fish and chips then this place is great for a decent price. If you expect 5 star customer service and arrive with complaining attitude demanding unrealistic things and being unreasonably rude, seriously go somewhere else. We need to remember what goes behind the scenes of actually preparing the food and serving it. Most people don’t think this way and expect everything for nothing. If you’d like to support smaller businesses like me and now time is tough for every business owner! be kind, be reasonable, be polite and you will be surprised by what you get in return. Show a bit of gratitude and treat staff with respect. Talk to owners and be honest, but remember to remain polite and considerate.
I'm sorry to say that I didn't have a very good experience the last two times despite Archie's being in such a lovely location. First I was surprised that the price in the shop was higher than on the website. The price is very steep, cod wasn't very tasty and had that unpleasant grey skin.inside the batter. The large portion of chips was barely a medium-sized portion in comparison to many other fish & chip shops. It wasn't a very good value for money for me and I won't be coming back. I'll rather drive a bit further and get Alfie's in Margate or Nazaar's in Cliftonville...just to name a couple of better ones.
Surprisingly good fish and chips. Very comfortable seating and the decor is nice and you don't feel like you are in a suburban take away. Also lovable staff- old owner called me young man which made my day.
Used to be great - no more the case. Went there Friday evening should be packed, I expected a long wait it was empty .... They were training a new girl on the till, none of my comments are aimed at her. But the other staff had zero enthusiasm. Asked for loads of salt and vinegar, stressing loads. And I got a tiny dribble. Served slow while chatting between themselves. Bland is the only word for it all. And 21 quid for two cod and a portion of chips.... I won't be returning.
A lovely place to sit in a eat your fish and chips. Freshly cooked to order and large portions. Good service from polite, helpful staff. Would definitely go again.

What an amazing fish restaurant! Archie's is great. Great fish, great chips, great atmosphere and great service. We came for a family meal party of 12 and we were looked after like family Would highly recommend taking the tea tomorrow in minster to visit this gem of a restaurant. P.S. they also do take away
Possibly the most expensive Fish & Chips shop in Kent. It's definitely the most expensive in Thanet, I checked. Prices in the last 5 years have increased about 200% Way too overpriced.
Food was delicious but staff were not friendly this time and the tables were stickyFood: 5/5
Very overpriced, fish was tasteless, chips were all dry small pieces. Sorry but won’t be going back!
