Ambassador Hotel

We were in Milwaukee for a concert at the Rave and were referred to the Ambassador for dinner. Kind of had a little sticker shock initially when the hostess presented us with a menu for the Valentine's Day festivities but we went to the bar and ate instead. Loved the steak sandwich, the sun dried tomato relish was very good but my favorite had to be the adult cupcakes. The Sangria one was amazing and the stout was nearly as good! Great service, very responsive and the art deco hotel itself made the decision to dine there very easy. I'll be back!

Such a cool place. The staff was super nice, our check-in was at 4pm and we arrived at 11am. Thankfully they had a room ready and were able to nap. We had lunch at their restaurant - I had the Asian salad and my dude had the burger. The burger won!

Our room was comfortable and clean. Hotel staff was very friendly, and they were quick to respond when we called with a problem. The Art Deco style is beautiful. We had dinner at the Fitz, and it was phenomenal. I have several food allergies, which usually make eating out next to impossible. Our waiter was extremely conscientious. He went out of his way to be sure I had a full meal, and that didn't feel like I had missed out on anything. It was lovely. We will definitely visit the Ambassador Hotel again in the future.

If I could, I wouldn't give any stars, and here's why... I stayed there between 2/27 and 2/28. One night stay. Easy, right? Nope! My dad payed for the room and reserved online. He put in his card number and security card. You would think that means that it's paid for. You see, I originally didn't book the hotel, I booked the inn. Not a big deal, the inn is closed when the hotel isn't full, so I would get an upgraded room. That would've been nice if I could get to my room. I give them my name, identification, and confirmed that I had reserved a room. They ask for your card for extra hidden fees. Declined. Apparently you put in this information online, but it's not paid for. They started getting busy and told me to sit in the lobby and wait to get things sorted out. Nearly an hour passes as I'm panicking in their lobby about how much time has passed as they profusely apologize to other guest for such a long wait! I came to see a concert at the venue nearby and was going to be late, but I stormed out. Came back after the concert, where my dad told me that he sorted things out at the hotel and that there was a room waiting for me. It is nearly midnight and am still going through issues with this hotel as the lady in front denied there ever being a phone call. My dad had to wake up and basically harass these people into letting me sleep there. I got two hours of sleep. I was hours away from home. Between the hidden fees, the rude staff, the unclear instructions, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemies. Just something to be aware of.

It is a treat to stay in an old hotel that has been updated. The old time fixtures and style is really beautiful. The staff was wonderful and the room very clean and comfortable. Easy parking too. I would stay again anytime. Breakfast is 25% off for guests - and very good. My new place to stay when visiting Milwaukee.
