A really terrific experience. We chanced upon this restaurant when we were in the neighbourhood. They accommodated us on short notice without reservation despite a packed restaurant and even moved us to a booth after a few minutes from our high top seats. The cocktails were fun and the quality of every dish we tried was excellent, specially the fried smelts and the steak. A hearty recommendation, specially considering the price point.
Stop looking and go here! We were two couples and had a dinner for a special occasion. Everything was truly exceptional. The vibe is the perfect mix of elegant, but relaxed and cosy, and the drinks are great as well to get the evening started. We ordered different small dishes to share for starters and all had different mains. Every single one of them was amazing. Prepared and presented beautifully and with passion, but not pretentious. The home made pasta was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the steak was as medium as it can be and the portions were ideal. Just delicious! BUT: what really blew our mind is how Amano Trattoria lives their Service. I’ve never seen such an attention to detail and this was one of the best service experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Starting from the way you’re greeted to recommendations and serving, you can instantly tell everyone working here love what they do and they make you feel welcome from the first second. We will all definitely come again!
Great vibe of the restaurant. I like the pizza here. And the grill mushrooms complimented the steak really well. Nice chewy bread with the bone marrow. Also very reasonable price for the portion of the meal. The half size rigatoni felt like a whole portion :. Will come around again to try the drinks.
Overall experience was amazing. Went there to celebrate a special occasion and we all loved it. Food was delicious and the service was awesome. We had some additional asks and the staff were happy to accommodate it. The ambiance was also very nice. Definitely going back. Arancini is a must try.
We rented the Sofia room for our work Holiday party 24 people and it was perfect. Amanda and her team were wonderful at accommodating the little details we requested, and the food was incredible. Everyone had a great time. Love the decor, and the overall vibe at Amano is elegant and inviting. Thank you!
Honestly one of my fave spots to go to now. Service was impeccable, food was delicious and the vibesss! The restaurant itself was roomy yet cozy. You must try their tasting menu! Had to get a second order of their smash potatoes Food: 5/5
Came here with my wife to try the Winterlicious menu, but we ended up ordering the Sono Affamoto four-course family style sampler instead. BEST decision we made! The amount of dishes and variety is unreal! Our waiter was super friendly and easy going, and explained all the dishes as they came out. It was a nice touch and really made us feel at home. Everything was top quality, superb presentation, and fairly priced. Bookmarked to come back with some friends. We came to Amano Trattoria for a special occasion. We were a party of two with a reservation, and while our table was being set, we sat at the bar and grabbed a couple of cocktails. From the very first greetings throughout two hours of dinning, several courses and drinks, we had a great experience: the staff and the food was delightful.
Stop browsing for a place for dinner tonight, and go here! We randomly selected this restaurant for an impromptu date night and were so impressed. It happened to be half price wine bottles on Wednesday I believe they have daily specials and will soon be participating in Winterlicious. Our server Mason was personable, enthusiastic and made fantastic wine and appetizer recommendations. We were feeling adventurous so opted for the stake tartare and bone marrow, both 2 visually stunning, balanced and delicious dishes. The ambience was inviting, with elegant, modern furniture and warm lighting. This has now become my favourite restaurant in the city. I imagine sitting at the bar would be a great experience too. Highly recommended trying them out for your next date night!
We came to this restaurant partly because of the good online rating as well as noticing the nice interior when passing by it in the past. After trying it for the first time, we were truly impressed. We like to try different restaurants, and rarely we discover a gem that we want to keep going back to, and we know this is going to be one for us, especially for nice date nights. The ambiance was warm and beautiful with plenty of candle light. The restaurant is big enough so that even when filled with patrons, it did not get overwhelmingly noisy for good conversation. Of course, the main thing was the food. We had arancini, the funghi pizza, hanger steak, and Nonna's ragu. Like many photos already shared, the funghi pizza was generously loaded with various types of mushrooms, and the natural flavor blended well with the potato base and cheese. With every juicy bite, you get a great umami and creamy flavor. Nonna's ragu was also amazing. Because tomato sauce based dish is common, it is difficult to go above expectation, but they did it with this dish. The Hanger steak was our favorite, it was perfectly cooked, served with cream and mint sauce, roasted vegetables, which included amazing lightly charred hen of the woods mushrooms. We also liked the beautiful cocktails we got. The attention to detail in this place was not only just for the food, but also the service. Overall, our server was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Although we had no special request, we observed such ones were accommodated in neighboring tables. Towards the end, we had no room in our stomach for big dessert items, and they kindly gave us 2 small lemon meringue tarts on the house. The bill also came with a beautiful post card. If you are looking for a nice restaurant, try Amano Trattoria. We found the value well worth the price, with great food with good portion, service, and experience.
