Due to highway closure, we needed a room overnight unexpectedly. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. The reception area was large and bright. It included the area where continental breakfast was served with plenty of seating space. The breakfast included items peculiar to their culture eg. steamed corn doughnuts, which were a treat!
This was the worst experience of my life. I arrived at the main office and there was no one there. I had to wait about 15 minutes until a woman showed up, clearly upset.nShe gave me room number 29 and told me that until 9:00 p.m. I would hear noise because the laundry room was next door.nI arrived at 6:00 p.m. and waited for the room to warm up, since when I entered the room the temperature was only 9 degrees.nI waited for more than two hours and then realized that the heating system was NOT working.nI called the woman and she brought me a portable heater… seriously?n$156 for a room with no heat??nI asked for my money back and left.nOn top of that, she got angry with me.nWorst place ever. Do not go.
Disgusting and Unsafe – A Complete Health Hazard!nnMy stay at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. The moment I stepped into the room, I was immediately struck by the overwhelming lack of cleanliness — dirty floors, unwashed linens, and a foul odor that made it hard to breathe. But what made the situation absolutely appalling was the sight of live bed bugs crawling on the mattress. That alone is inexcusable and a clear threat to guests’ health and well-being.nnThe bathroom was in terrible shape, with grime buildup and clear signs of neglect. It was obvious that no proper cleaning standards are being upheld at this property. I had no choice but to leave the room instantly to protect myself from bites and possible infestation.nnThis level of neglect is not only unacceptable but dangerously irresponsible. I would never return to this hotel, and I strongly warn others to stay far away. The management clearly has no concern for guest safety or basic hygiene. This place should not be in operation under these filthy conditions. Absolutely unacceptable and completely NOT recommended.
Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. My husband, 2 month old daughter and I needed a place to stay overnight to break up a long car ride between Calgary and Vernon. We came across the Alpine Inn and Suites which had a “family suite” available. The city was very busy over July long weekend so there were limited other options… this family suite was being offered for $380. This was a steep price but we were exhausted and needed somewhere to rest our heads…. We entered the “suite” and were immediately hit by a terrible smell of what I would best describe as urine combined with marijuana. We tried to air the place out by opening a window but within the mesh there were holes that mosquitoes could get in. The only source of air conditioning was a fan in one of the bedrooms. The furnishings have not looked to be updated since the inception of the hotel which I would rate as a 2/5, certainly not more. Ultimately we didn’t feel comfortable staying longer than 1.5 hours in this room with our newborn daughter and ended up leaving and essentially just lost $380. This hotel may be suitable for some individuals but not for a family and certainly not for $380.
The room shows it's age. The bathroom taps leaked, the hot water didn't work for the sink, the toilet room dispenser was.not fastened to the wall, the fan didn't work. The beds were somewhat comfortable but you need to like a very firm mattress. Not many plug ins along the bedside. There are probably nicer places to stay in Revelstoke for not much more money. This was $241 a night.
