If there were zero stars I'd give it! I am a hardworking mother and you want to penalize me for not having a direct diposit for my account and then when I need a new debit card and have the funds to have it rushed to my address you sneaky f@#$ers find a way to take money out of my account so it screws me. How UN-AMERICAN! and wrong in so many ways. I'm telling EVERYONE I know about how wrong you people are!!

Shady - shady - shady. I've been banking with various institutions for 25 years, and I have never had reason to utterly detest a business until now. These folks will take your money, sure, but if they make mistakes with it, you pay the fees. And God forbid if you make a mistake on an account number and a payment is misdeposited into another of your loan accounts, they don't call or write to ask what's going on, or notify you (like every other institution does!), but instead report your "failure to pay" to the credit agencies and even sell your "debt" to bill collectors! (That's how you discover problems!!) Even when they have had the money you supposedly owe them all along! It's worse than appalling!! They won't work with you, they won't fix anything, and they couldn't care less about you or the impact their callousness and lack of customer service has on your life. They are shady, shady, shady.
In sum: STAY AWAY! Go anywhere else!

I have been a member for over 20 years and the credit union has never let me down. They always give me the lowest rates, and I love the long hours at my Fred Meyer. Thanks Alaska USA!

This is more a complaint regarding their mortgage lenders. My husband and I had hooked up with a realtor who had recommended Jeremy Gogain as a potential lender. We met with him once, everything was cool. We liked him. Fast-forward a couple of weeks and we'd decided to part ways with our realtor, but kept on with the lender as we'd already done all that yawn-inducing paperwork and credit checks. I sent him a text requesting some numbers on a property, since he'd specifically stated he was available anytime, day or night, and would "always get back to us right away". It was TWO HOURS before he bothered responding, and it was a rather generic message stating that he'd send us the information requested the next day. Never did. We then find out that he had gone behind our backs, called our former realtor, and asked her why we were working with the other guy. Our former realtor then called and bitched out our new one. Not only is that EXTREMELY unprofessional, it's a complete breach of our private transactions and requests. We're considering suing, and I fully intend to lodge a complaint with Alaska USA's senior management. Bottom line? These people aren't loyal to YOU, they're loyal to those who send them your business.

I have been keeping a checking-saving and credit card account with them for some time. I hate their service for a number of reasons but keep it since I need a local bank account in Alaska. Once it took them 7-10 days to clear a locally issued cashiers' check submitted by me! The delay for outstation checks is even more. I pay my credit card debt, even before the statements are issued: last month, for some reason, there was $15 due from me. They issued me a letter threatening action, including reporting to credit bureaus. Over and above, a finance charge of $10 was levied to me. I also noticed that this finance charge increased by $1 every other day. Such a scam! When I called them to ask, the lady who took the phone gave me a 15 minute lecture on credit management. I guess I am going to say good buy. Stay way (may be, you will do that only after you get bad results!).
