The food is pretty tasty and a treat to have something different from time to time. The service is generally pretty bad. They’re slow, always speaking Arabic and love calling you boss or bro hahannThe decor is very basic and nowhere inside to eat. They only take cash, too. It’s decent for takeout.
I have been a patron of this bakery since it opened up back in the 90’s. It is so nice to see goodness in the world succeed.nI was single and ate at this place, I got married and still ate at this place, I had kids and still breakfast was a satisfying Saturday morning pilgrimage to this place. The food kept evolving and the restaurant kept growing.nEven when I visited Lebanon Beirut in 2010, their baked goods did not compare to this Bakery’s nMohamad is the owner and pioneer in this business as he is disciplined in electrical studies.nHe is a living proof of “where there is a will, there’s always a way”.nHe is a supporter of my kids NGHA hockey and community soccer.nI like going there early in the mornings right after opening for a fresh unmatched thime pie breakfast.nIf you have gluten allergies he even makes gluten free pies upon request.nnI miss the seats option because I enjoyed engaging in morning conversations before going to work. But that’s the past and now this bakery is too busy to host discussions nnStill ranks the top bakery in Ottawa amongst the Farhat chain of bakeries around.nCongratulations Mohamad on your continued success.nYou have definitely earned it man
It sucks that I’m writing this because I’ve been coming here for years and never any problem but yesterday I went and got a meat and cheese pie and just plain cheese pie I was able to eat half of both before I was full, an hour or so later I was extremely sick, not sure why that happened maybe the meat? But I will be staying away for awhile unfortunately: service on top as usual… sorry for writing this just don’t want anyone else to get sick.
I’ve been a patron of this bakery since it first opened in the ’90s, and it makes me so happy to see something so genuinely good continue to thrive. I ate here when I was single, I kept coming after I got married, and even after having kids, Saturday morning breakfasts here became a cherished family tradition. The food has continued to evolve, and the bakery has grown beautifully over the years.
The food here is actually quite good — it’s nice to have something different every now and then, and the flavors are on point. However, the service could definitely use some improvement. It’s usually slow, and while the staff are friendly, they spend most of the time chatting in Arabic and calling everyone “boss” or “bro,” which can be a bit funny but also a little unprofessional at times.nnThe place itself is pretty simple — no real dine-in area, just a basic setup mainly for takeout. Also worth noting, they only accept cash, so make sure you’re prepared. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you’re in the mood for something flavorful to take home, but not the place to go if you’re expecting quick service or a sit-down meal.
