Great food! Amazing service! Definitely an experience to come back for! Their beef teriyaki was so good we forgot to take a photo of it! It'll be served on a hot plate with a decent portion of rice! Their signage still says ICHIBAN at the moment Clean and spacious seating area Ordered my hot pot of sake and Love Boat as usual. Service from Chloe, the cute gentleman server was great. I remember him from the old location. They were very kind. Chef also came to say hi. The Love Boat was fresh and nicely displayed. The hot soup noodle with tempura bits on the house was a nice touch. We also got a grilled salmon head and it was done to perfection. The owner is absolutely lovely and welcoming. The service is always great. The food quality never fails. Love Boat - Small $52: It has a variety of sashimi, sushi and nigiri. My take out order came with miso soup and salad. Uni has been. Out of season for a while but I got to have it in this platter. There are also fried taro chips in the platter too. The fishes were fresh and delicious. Overall I can't wait to have the dine in experience again at Akane.
Very friendly and quick service here. Prices are reasonable. Servers were great. They gave us edamame and soup on the house which was amazing. All the food tasted fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this spot and will be a returning customer.
10/10 - recommend you eat here, you can expect: Exceptional service Great ambiance, love the decor Tasty and Fresh sushi/Sashimi This is a great place to share to share a meal with Family Friends or a Loved one . Although it's not a HUGE restaurant, you won't feel cramped, they have booths and a few tables situated RESPECFULLY throughout the restaurant and with enough space between them so you don't feel like everyone can hear a conversation you're having with your table mates. This I appreciate as I can't stand restaurants that try to maximize their profits by increasing tables to the max; which results in an environment that is too cramped, akward and not enjoyable. Sorry for the rant lol, now back to the review! Upon arrival I was greeted with the smile and my friend and I were seated at one of their booths. They handed us the menu and we had a HARD time deciding because honestly, everything in the menu looked so delicious! We settled on Green & Red dragon rolls with Tuna Butterfish Sashimi. While we waited, we were served green tea, noodle soup and miso soup on the house! This was so nice, the broth was so flavourful with depth of flavour! Not just watery and salty like some other places I've been too. Once our food arrived, it was displayed beautifully on a wood board, great presentation! We had to be one of THOSE people and LOL we took a picture of the food for an instagram post, which you'll see attached to this review yummy deliciousness, soy sauce was presented in a traditional Japanese teapot with a side-handle. The spout allowed a controlled stream to pour just the right amount on to your food. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture but you can google it. The waitresses checked on us several times in appropriate intervals to make sure everything was to our liking, which it was. To note: The booth we were at had curtains which could be pulled down for some extra privacy as well! The bill came promptly when we asked for it and was a smooth process. In summary, I would highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed! Vegetarian options: I saw vegetarian options on the menu. Edamame, California rolls, etc. Dietary restrictions: I noticed a note on their menu mentioning to note any allergies you have. They will likely be able to accommodate.
The place was a cute Japanese a la carte restaurant tugged alongside the centrepoint mall. We would definitely return back as the services was good and we had complimentary grill salmon's head, noodle soup, & salad. It is hard nowadays that restaurant would cater such treats. The staffs were attentive and accomodating. The manager even went up to us to asked how we liked the food. We had the love boat, the portions was fulfilling, fresh, and good assortments of sushi and sashimi. The restaurant in general was clean and well kept. Great place to have a nice casual dining. Great place for sushi. The sushi tasted fresh. Prices are reasonable and the staff is extremely kind. Definitely, my go-to place whenever I'm in the city. A definite must try! You won't be disappointed!
My family enjoy ‘Sushi Wednesday’ take out from Ichiban Akane Centerpoint. Because the love boat always fresh, delicious and so many various sashimi. The price is affordable and reasonable. Susan is so friendly and always smiling to welcome all the customers. Keep up the good work!
I enjoy stopping in for a quick take-out order and occasionally had in restaurant dinning. All has been wonderful, the service is excellent and the food has always been deliciously fresh.
It's refreshing to have a great Japanese restaurant in our neighborhood. Sushi is always fresh and expertly prepared. Service is friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend. Parking: Lots of free parking right outside restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Located at the ground level so wheelchair accessible.
Great experience, their salmon poke bowl was a good portion and only 13 dollars. They also gave me and my friend a california roll for free! I also like the green tea they serve. Overall, food was good and service was great.
