The food was a large portion for the price! 3 of us paid $100 and that included 4 dishes, a bottle of wine and two other glasses, as well as dessert! We really enjoyed having the call button for the waitress.
The grilled makerel was good but the amount the rice was ridiculously tiny for its price. The fish egg bowl was very small, no egg, no interesting sides, although the stone rice was nice... The customer service was not bad.
The place is ok, but the washrooms looks like they are unfinished . The food is ok, not great. They control the salt level, sometimes to much unless the cook forgot to put salt in my pancakes. The seafood soup has not seafood. The kalbi was not cook on the grill. One of the three table staff was very moody. The food flavour was good and the portions were good.
huge rolls... and ok service. it's got at a good location, and a very nice setting inside, but their food offering is plain normal regular conventional Canadian japanese food with average taste.
This used to be hands down my favourite sushi place back when it was Ichiban. Even though they were on the pricey side, the rolls were just awesome, huge and generous on the seafood. Fast forward to Kogo. Prices went UP, taste and size went DOWN. Today I ordered one of the more expensive rolls, a black dragon. It came without tobiko. I asked the waitress if they were out of it because the menu stated tobiko and I had ALWAYS gotten a black dragon with tobiko on top, regardless of place. She took it back and came back apologizing that the chef forgot. I said 'ok' but because this was NOT my first time at this place under the Kogo name, I thought 'no, he was just trying to save money, hoping I wouldn't say anything'. The roll was brought back to me in a couple of minutes and it was all I could do to not burst out laughing. Every piece had a few grains of tobiko on top. I could have literally counted the grains on each piece. Seriously? For $14.99? This was my last time at Kogo. Management, don't skimp on your customers. That's not the way to success in your business. The 2 stars are for service and the fact that the food still tastes above average. If anyone cares enough to take action, this review is based on a meal I had here around 7:30pm on July 17, 2017. UPDATE: Added image of rolls. I didn't before since I was writing the review from my phone and there was no option to add images.
Evem though I am a salmon lover, the salmon teriyaki here didn't satisfy me at all. They over cooked it and made it too hard to eat, and the taste is not very good. Not bad though.
Randomly dropped in while walking around and food was great. Loved their Salmon Sushi Pizza.
I went to Kogo after 10 because i heard they were having a new Izakaya. I arrived around 10 and the server there told me to wait and gave me free services like free food!! I would recommend this place if you're looking for a place to have a drink.
If you have a choice, don't eat at this place. I walked in and was seated, and went through the menu then I waited for almost 10 minutes for someone to take my order despite the fact that I waved a couple times. There are only 2 waiters in such a big location. Then I waited for 25 minutes for food, without my salad and soup, or my tea. Once the food arrived I noticed the rice is not hot at all, only a single feel of warmth. I ordered the bulgogi soup, the beef tastes old, and too salty, needless to say the amount of glass noodles provided in the soup is way more than the beef pieces. While I'm eating the light was suddenly dim, everyone was confuse and I overheard people saying they can't read the menu clearly. Then when I'm done I was directed to the cashier for the credit card machine, but I stood there for 5 minutes since there is only one cashier there and she's too busy serving the delivery people. But yea I get to eat there and wasn't noisy there, just that the service is minimal and the wait is way too long. And there were multiple tables surrounding that were not being cleaned up, so have fun.
First online food review ever in my life. Felt compelled to do one to warn people about this place. Walked in for take out for chicken donburi that cost $12 plus tax. Worst I've ever had, cheapest quality ingredients and NO egg in it, even though it's advertised as an omelette on rice. Veggies mostly cabbage. Tasted like it was microwaved. On top of that, hostess who took my order was very rude and gave me the impression that she didn't want my business. Unbelievable experience! TRUST ME, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Had half a mind to go back and complain in person, but figured a negative online review might impact them more ;
