Agawa Bay Campground

It's a beautiful wooded campground! The sites are nice and the lake is pretty. This campground is probably best for people who like camping/are more experienced. The firewood is extremely wet. I'd bet the wood we bought was cut down the day before we arrived or was stored in the lake. Even with a bed of hot coals, we had to fan the fire to keep any flames alive. Some of the sites are very close to the highway, and we were woken up by trucks a few times in the middle of the night. However, all of the sites can hear the waves on the lake shore which is pleasant to fall asleep to. There are not a lot of comfort stations, but there are a lot of vault toilets with a sink & running water to wash your hands. The actual comfort stations are pretty old, but in alright shape. The visitor's centre has a nice little museum in it ans is well kept!

The campground has good size lots, many located directly on the beach. The sunsets are beautiful and the star viewing is incredible. The campground personal are professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The gentleman on duty was able to help change some reservations in the park for us with no problems. The toilets are pit style with sinks. There are two shower buildings with a small laundry. Canoes are available for rental. The beach is made of stones and the water is crystal clear. The park has many hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes and scenic views. Canoes can also be rented at Rabbit Blanket Lake and the Park Office. There is only one road to travel through the park and it goes by the campground so you will hear traffic into the night. There are no service stations or stores between Pancake Bay and Wawa, a 151 kilometers. We can't wait to go back again.

Agawa bay is one of my absolute favorite camp grounds and I'm sad I didn't get to stay longer to enjoy it my second time around. They have really nice bathrooms and showers. Private camp sites with lots of space. Right on the water front with stunning views of Lake Superior. If you are hoping to camp this way you gotta stay here and 1 night is not enough. Our first time here last year was my puppy's first time on sand and he went absolutely crazy. He loved ripping around the beach. Tons of beautiful rocks from lake Superior to view. Jasper's, agates, quartz and much more!

The Agawa Bay Campground is simply wonderful. My only regret is that I didn't get to experience it until I was retired. Lake Superior PP has so much to offer, and this campground is central to it all. There are many hiking trails and opportunities for photography here... or simply relaxing and enjoying this shoreline. I only wish that this campground were open beyond Thanksgiving. The remoteness of this park also offers astrophotographers with photographic opportunities that are not possible near urban areas. The shoreline campsites are gems. One thing to keep in mind is that the closer your site is to the highway, the noisier truck traffic is. Fortunately, traffic falls dramatically at night given the risk of moose, etc. wandering on the highway.

A 3.5-4 campground rating. It's really the view you come here for if you manage to snag a spot there or go during the day/evening. Otherwise, it is a VERY tightly packed campground with plenty of facilities probably best to drive but even for driving bigger vehicles and especially if you're coming in at night be very careful bc the roads are tight. The other thing to note is that you're right beside the highway so you can expect a LOT of highway noise especially the large trucks zooming past. If you want a campground with minimal to 0 car noise + more room between you and neighbours plus privacy... this is not the one. The showers are usually filled with sand as well bc of the beach

Nicest campground in Ontario. Campsites on the beach are the nicest and the views of the sunset/sunrise are spectacular. The water is crystal clear and the many beautiful rocks are a sight for the eye to behold.

Beautiful park in Lake Superior!! Fantastic campground even though it is close to the highway, the beach makes up for it! Nice campsites, great comfort stations. The pit toilets are not the best :. Make sure to pack all of your food, the store here has none! And the nearest grocery store is in Wawa! An hour away

The campground itself is crammed between the highway and the shore, making the everpresent sounds of passing traffic compete with the sounds of water lapping or crashing against the shore. The electrical sites being of various sizes, and offering very little to no privacy between sites. Non electrical sites, especially those in the higher numbers, offered more privacy and a woodsy feel. The availability of pit toilets is plentiful if a bit malodorous. Cleanliness was so-so in the pits, but the comfort stations were decent, and water pressure was great, though the plumbing needed attention as there was one shower constantly running the 4 days we were there due to a plumbing issue. Taps for potable water were also widely available. We found our campsite to have a lot of litter on it and a fair bit of litter was seen throughout the campground unfortunately. The park has a wonderful visitors centre with a lots to look through, and a charming little gift shop. The staff were by and large very nice to deal with and were very engaging when involved in their educational programs. The outdoor amphitheatre is in disrepair and is not being used at this time. Despite any shortcomings the campground may have had, the beach was lovely and includes a large dog beach. The rocks and pebbles at the beach are colourful and great fun to sift through, and the waves and wind by the water can get wild, showcasing the power and majesty of the forces of nature over water. All this said, the absolute best feature of this campground is that it is a great place to venture out from! The beauty of this park is definitely not found in the campgrounds, but in all the adventures that can begin from here. There are beautiful trails taking you to breathtaking views, and many wonderful spots to be discovered and enjoyed after short hikes. The myriad lakes including Superior, offer all levels of challenge to those choosing to dip a paddle or hoist a sail. It would take many summers to really experience all that this park has to offer, and the beautiful geography will be indelibly stored in your memories for a lifetime. This park gets more amazing based on how much you are willing to venture out and do.

Great place to stay. I only have one complaint, one that matters to everyone who likes to have a fire when camping. It seems the firewood supplier is providing wet wood that doesn't stay lit. Do not buy it for the ridiculous price of $8.50 that doesn't burn!! Your kids will be surely disappointed!!

lot 300s. was hoping for the quiet no radio zones but you are still beside the highway. Still peaceful and crash of the waves can be heard throughout the day when it storms here. This lot is very close to the bathrooms and showers, so we were lucky to get it. Quite empty, not much around us end of July
