Afghan Chopan Restaurant

Taste, presentation and portions - talk about plenty of each of these! The platter was enough to feed an army! They became highly anticipated leftovers for the next day. It was worth the trip from nearly 40 min away, and it seems like an on-describe place on the outside but don’t let that fool you. My first Afghan cuisine experience, with a gracious host. Will come again!

Have been here twice but couldn’t pick proper pictures.nnThey have the lunch meal platter till 3 pm .nWe ordered chicken roast , lamb lunch plate , chicken lunch platter . I would say they make the best lamb chops in Vancouver , so juicy , tender and worth the price .nnChicken is also soooo delicious and fermi is worth giving a try !nnOver all I would rate my experience as 4/5

The whole experience was amazing. Food tasted yummy. Compared to price, portions were sufficient and fulfilling.nAmbience is nice and seems to be a popular spot among families as well.nnWill be back to try the other foods from the menu. Highly recommended.nnOnly drawback would be, after serving the food, server never returned to ask whether we need anything else or not.nWe paid the bill while leaving the restaurant.

Visited this restaurant on July 11, 2024 as family of 7.nnWe ordered their BBQ platter, Mantu and green tea.nnPlatter comes with side dishes of vegetables and rice.nnUnfortunately food was pretty average. Kabuli Rice and Mantu was not good at all, doesn’t taste like Afghani traditional made.nnBBQ platter was fine but chops meat was not tender.nnService was good and restaurant was kept decently good.nnPrices are on higher side

My wife, two friends, and I recently visited Afghan Chopan in Surrey. Despite our previous unsuccessful attempt to dine there, we finally managed to secure a spot for dinner . However, our experience was marred from the outset by a rude server. Despite giving her the benefit of the doubt, her demeanor remained dismissive and unapologetic.nnI placed our order clearly, emphasizing our desire to start with appetizers: Ashak both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, Chopan kebab, chicken kebab, a vegetarian combo, and a non-vegetarian combo, accompanied by two mango drinks. she also told this might be a lot of food to order then i told her that we will take it out with us left overnnAfter a 15-minute wait, the server returned without the drinks, bluntly informing us that our main courses were ready but appetizers would take longer. There was no attempt to apologize or offer any explanation. When I asked if she was having a rough day, her response was confusing and dismissive. Despite my clear request for appetizers first, she insisted on bringing the mains immediately and separately.nnOne of my friends, a seasoned restaurant manager himself, expressed his frustration at the disrespectful treatment we were receiving. The server, named Karen, showed complete disregard for his position, further exacerbating the situation.nnEven when we requested to speak with the manager, Karen persistently interrupted and refused to acknowledge her fault. Despite the manager's attempts to salvage the evening and reassure us, the damage had been done. My wife, feeling utterly disrespected, insisted we leave.nnIt's disappointing that such behavior tarnishes the reputation of what could otherwise be a respectable establishment. In my nine years in the food industry, this was by far my most regrettable dining experience. Proper service, accompanied by a basic display of courtesy and empathy, could have made a world of difference
