We randomly found this restaurant and decided to try their food. To our absolute delight the food was delicious.nnWe ordered Manchurian which was amazing.nKadaahi paneer with garlic naan and tandoori roti. The base sauce gravy was absolute perfection.nnSo far we have tried other Indian restaurants within lower mainland but never liked the food.nnWe loved the vibe and food here. We will definitely be back soon. Thank younnMoney spent $85 + tipnSeptember 2024
We recently ordered takeaway from here, and unfortunately, I found a long hair in my naan. It was really disappointing and made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. I’ve attached a photo for reference. On top of that, there were mosquitos flying around inside the restaurant, which made for an uncomfortable dining environment. That being said, I want to acknowledge that the service was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food arrived quickly. It's just a shame that these hygiene and cleanliness issues overshadowed the otherwise positive experience.
After a long time, my family and I visited Spice 72, and it was a wonderful experience. We ordered Gol Gappe, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan, Shahi Paneer, and Chili Paneer. Everything was absolutely delicious! The food was well prepared. The service was also excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive.nnThe only suggestion I have is regarding the music. Since it’s an Indian restaurant, it would be nice to have Indian music playing instead of English songs to enhance the authentic dining experience. Other than that everything was great, and we will definitely be back again!!!!
Dec 2024:nI think they’ve been open for a couple years and within walking distance. We finally went for an early dinner on this rainy Sunday afternoon after gifted a gift card.nnI was told it’s better food and price wise than our favourite neighborhood Indian restaurant.nThe decor is nice, booth seating, low lighting and a variety of music modern mix it seems.nService was good, with more than 1 person attending to our table.nnWe ordered purposely so we could make comparisons: butter chicken $19, vegetable pakora $14, palau rice w/cumin seeds & peas $6 and garlic naan $3.50.nWe weren’t asked for spice level preference however everything was not overly spicy for us, maybe they made adjustments for us as we’re not South Asian.nnThe butter chicken had 8 pcs with lots of sauce more than enough, the pakora had exactly 8 medium pieces which I think for $14 is expensive.nThe garlic naan was excellent.nnOur usual restaurant includes naan or rice with their butter chicken which we like so we can order an additional dish if we like.nnOverall, we enjoyed our meal and it seems to be a popular restaurant with a steady take-out service this day.nnLocated in Strawberry Hills Shopping Centre visible from 72 Ave.nParking is plenty but not right outside the door aside from a couple spots.nUsual forms of payment accepted.
Garlic naan was perfect, fluffy edges, burnt to the right amount, soft and warm. Achari paneer was tangy and interesting, however I prefer they put more cubes. Gol gappa doesn’t stand out. Gulab jamun cake is a scam, it’s pretty much a sponge cake with ice-cream scoop on top, and no there’s no gulab jamun hidden in it.
