Beautiful park and our site was perfectly hidden under the trees in the back. I would’ve gave 5 stars but no beach or swimming area for kids was a huge downfall, especially during these 90* summer days. The lake was nice but you can’t swim in it, snakes and signs posted saying no swimming. The pit bathrooms also had no privacy which was uncomfortable for my teen daughter.
This is a hidden gem in Oakland County with 734 pristine acres. We love how the county is protecting the wildlife and the forest. Walking and biking trails, fishing, birding, jungle gyms for the kids. We saw snapping turtles laying their eggs near the trail. Spectacular setting. The grounds and bathrooms are immaculate.
Very nice campground, great playgrounds, challenging 18 hole disc golf course, 2.5 mile paved trail for biking/walking/running, 7 mile MTB trail is well manicured and challenging, fishing lake with boat rentals, bike rentals and pedal go kart rentals. All rentals are only $5/half hour. We really enjoyed this camping trip and will go again soon. Only thing is they don't have a place to swim. Pavilion has lots of activities for kids and family all day on Saturday.
I’ve been to this park only a couple of times. It seems very well maintained. Unfortunately the times I’ve been here it was off season. I’m sure in the fall it would be beautiful…
This park is a must see! Plenty of camping sites to park with available showers, electricity and water on the camp site. Also has a nice boat launch area and you can also rent go carts and bikes and some kayaks too. Cabins are also available for rent too. Nice and quite park to chill and relax. Enjoy the pictures provided.
It had became our Filipino group tradition to gather to this place and spend a night or two as a weekend getaway or celebrate a birthday. Great park, not so close and not so far either.
Great place. Excellent staff. Well maintained grounds. Excellent walking / biking trails. Clean and very well kept bathrooms / showers push button for free 6 minutes of use time, push again if needed / laundry $1.50 wash + $1.50 dry on site. Plenty of wildlife to see while just walking around. Affordable rates. I look forward to visiting again. Playground: The playground looked like a recent installation and was being enjoyed by the children that I saw using it. Restrooms: Restrooms and showers are cleaned daily and staff are definitely well trained and capable. Dog-friendliness: Obviously pick up after your dog and keep a 6 foot leash, otherwise, no problems from my experience during my stay. Picnic area: Picnic area is clean and maintained. Not much else to say, really.
Great place for camping! The tent lots were large and spacious. The trails wound through the woods and fields with an easy meander. There are mountain biking trails as well. We came on a weekend with no reservation. They have a handful of first come first serve lots and there were at least two left around 7 p.m. The staff was all friendly, waving hello as you drive past them. The campers...not so much. Be prepared for rowdy kids after Taps AND early in the morning. Expect druggies shouting/whistling for their run-away dogs at 6 a.m. As much as I would love to come here again, the crowd definitely makes me think twice. When looking for lots, they have pictures of each one online, so choose the most secluded looking lot to get the best isolation. The more trees the better. Our lot was not too far from the trail, and the trees did a good job of muting out the noise when walking. Very peaceful and surreal trails! As I come from Illinois, I don't know if this behavior is expected in any Michigan campsite. Since we came here for the Spartan race, my guess is that there were many out of towers, so take my complaint with a grain of salt. Overall, everything about the campground was amazing! Despite the campers, it is the best you can get during a busy post-lockdown summer.
Stopped in to look the campgrounds over for our upcoming trip and believe we're going to enjoy stay. Update 7/12/21 Well the long weekend stay we had in the B campground was very very enjoyable. Grounds are well taken care of, bath house is maintain on a regular basis. Staff is just great, thanks for it all. Heading back in September, but in C campground. Hope it's as good.
Our family loves this place, beautiful grounds and beautiful small lake for canoeing and peddle boat! Love the newer playgrounds they made! Even though the playground is big, the ramps on the playground make it easy for younger children to run around safely
