The most incredible experience at Acquafarina over the weekend, this is a Michelin Star quality restaurant. The moment you walk in you can feel the luxurious high end ambience which is still warm and inviting. Our server was absolutely amazing, he was extremely professional with a great sense of humour. I loved that the whole experience was so ostentatious, exciting and most importantly, DELICIOUS! The cocktails were to die for, the wine cellar had over 800 bottles of wine with 3 bottles of the larges Louis XIII I’ve ever seen. Apparently worth over $60k! We got to meet the very handsome owner and he took us on a tour to the wine cellar, it was a very special treat. Forgot to take photos of a few of the dishes we ordered, it was too delicious and fun, sorry!
I have really mixed feelings about this restaurant. There are many positives. The ambiance is nice. Our server was amazing and really helped the experience. And the food was extremely well done, you can really feel the care and attention to each dish. However, they are also very snobby and pretentious, which does not match the relaxed west coast vibe we are used to in Vancouver. Up until recently they did not allow phones or cameras. Even so, when we visited they asked us to put our phones away because we had them on the table. They also have a “dress code”. I was not wearing their dress code was in a t-shirt and jeans when we went but they said its ok, just remember for next time. There were other diners who were not in the correct dress code as well. This was a bit off-putting. I wear a full suit five days a week and like to relax on the weekends and not worry too much about dressing in whatever their dress code is, and which is not even strictly enforced. I feel like I will return, in the correct dress code, and might have a better experience. But my suggestion for them would be to drop the pretentiousness and loosen up a little.
Delicious Truffle Pizza! Went for lunch and sat on the Terrace. Lovely ambiance, great service, and food was SO good. Great place to go if you work around the area especially on a nice day. Their Terrace makes you feel like you're not in Vancouver but somewhere on vacation. Thank you!
Food, drink and atmosphere were awesome! The highlight was having Nathan as our server for the whole evening! We felt welcomed and had a great conversation with him. I am hoping Nathan can serve our table at the next visit. Can’t wait to try their lunch menu in a week.
My new favourite restaurant! Linger over shared antipasti and cocktails all afternoon for a splashy lunch, perfect for romantic date or just because night out with friends -- Vancouver finally has a fresh finer dining experience that doesn't feel uppity but still classy. These photos were taken during their *cell phones allowed* week but generally phones are a no go here -- even as someone documents everything I actually really appreciate this rule. It adds to the experience and a bit of mystery. Gluten free and Veg options, seafood is always perfectly executed and seating is super comfortable so settle in and get dessert! High quality wines, solid options by the glass, beautifully balanced cocktails and totally worth getting a locker!!! A must do for tourists and locals alike. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the next set menu experience.
Great service, great food, and great ambiance on a Saturday evening. Not nearly as pretentious as I feared from other reviews, instead I found the restaurant gorgeous and welcoming, and our server Nate was attentive, funny, and helpful. For appies the octopus and beet salad were both impressive, and then for my main I really enjoyed the truffle risotto. Our party didn’t have enough time to try the tasting menu but I would be excited to try it one day.
At best, a 3/5. It attempts, very hard, to be fine dining but it misses the mark by a long shot. Food was average and service was pretentious and disrespectful. Service at a three Michelin start Italian restaurant in Rome was less ostentatious despite serving much higher quality food at a higher price range. I agree that the restaurant and its patio are beautiful.
Came in here to check out chef Jefferson's new menu. Was a fan of his restaurant Cacao in Kits like 5 years ago. The food is just divine. Highly recommend the Lobster Tail Linguine and the Wild Boar Chop - visually stunning and super flavourful! The food menu price is surprisingly reasonable. We spend $170 on 4 dishes and were quite full after Sitting at the bar and well taken cared by Chris, an award-winning mixologist, I quite enjoyed the cocktails. Wine recommendations were fabulous - wine export Leagh is one of the best wine directors in the city. Taking the advantage of allowing cameras this week 2 more days left I think, I took a tour of the whole restaurant guide by Jose, who's quite passionate about his role here. The wine room is spectacular and the liquor lockers are quite impressive. This place is no doubt the classiest restaurant of the city.
Glad that I visited during the week when I was still able to use my cell phone for photos but I feel this policy would really alienate some of their clientele. The restaurant is gorgeous, our server was excellent, our food was good not the best Italian in town. Would we come back again... hmm... not sure... and I deducted a star for being charged $9 for still water. Sorry, I know this place is premium, but we live in BC. Still water should be free.
Here for the birthday celebration, expected better since it labeled as fine dining. First of all, the ambience in the lounge room was ok, mixed industrial and luxurious deco I would say? Assuming it's weekday so not many customers, high rised celling giving unwelcoming/cold vibes. The service overall was good, the lady who served our table noticed the accident crack to glass, immdiately changed glass, so cheers to the attention to details. We ordered from A la Carte menu, the octopus was very soft and fishy instead of chewy, and nobi cracker on top was too hard. Oysters were small and not so fresh. The spaghetti and black truffle risotto was undercooked, according to server it's authentic Italian way. Remind them.when.u order if you prefer softer texture. Other dishes were delicious. Limited selection for dessert too. Overall it's overpriced as the portion and food quality. There's a lot need to improve on.
