Abbotsford Hotel

Below standards even for budget hotel. Difficult to access. Dubious area, with the commensurate crowd. Poor service. Rooms look, smell and are decrepit. The comfort is minimal. AC was dirty - which says a lot, as it did not work! . Bed linen was freshly stained, which begs the question if it had been properly washed, if at all. The smell of smoke coming from the building is offensively strong and permeates in the rooms. Considering it's supposed to be a non smoking establishment...

The Rivers Restaurant is awesome! Home style and good portions. Soups are great so are the pies.. Everything from Breakfast to Dinner are yummy. Friendly service. Senior portions!

This is where I stay when the Best Western across the street is too pricey or I need to conserve cash. Again, bed comfort. If the bed is not comfortable then nothing else matters. They can be some hotel issues but all in all not a bad place to stay for the night.

Substandard hotel. Should be classed as a motel, not a hotel. Poor service and you can tell they cheap out on everything. Dingy and smells like smoke throughout the hotel, despite it being “non-smoking”. Random disrepair all over like holes in the ceiling, missing sections of floor, broken balcony with caution tape, stains etc. This place clearly hasn’t been maintained. The pool and hot tub area was alright, but no change room or towels down there. The “included breakfast” was non-existent except for a juice and coffee machine (tasted terrible). I stayed in the premier room with king bed but it wasn’t very nice, didn’t look like the pictures on the website. There was a “city view” balcony but this looked out at the dumpsters behind the building and the balcony area was filthy with bird poop everywhere and a bird’s nest. Bathroom towels are very small, more like a hand towel, and quite old with no softness. No real mugs or glasses in the room, just disposable paper cups. No hairdryer as advertised. No safe. Keycard was very finicky and barely worked. The only good thing about the room was that the bed and pillows were comfy and it was dark and fairly quiet, so it’s a decent place if you just need somewhere to sleep. Pretty cheap to stay here as far as hotels go, but still not worth the money. Numerous better options around.

Staff were not friendly, the room smelled musty and stale. I found blood on the wall of the shower and when I informed the management, they tried telling me it was hair dye. I have a lot of medical training, I know blood when I see it. Never staying here again
