I needed catering for a reception after my sister's funeral and chose Zarky's. Cherron was wonderful at taking my order, she was very professional, and kind. The food came to my house right on time, and the gentleman that delivered the food was very polite, and gave his condolences to me which was very nice. The food looked awesome just like they advertised, and I was pleased. Everyone at the reception loved the food, and the desserts went quick! I definitely would recommend them for any catering you need! Thanks Zarky's for coming through, and making this difficult time much much more easier.
If I could leave a zero star I would... I bought this chili a few days ago from their "reduce to sell section" thinking it was at least still good until it thaws. I was very wrong, I put it in my pot, ready to cook, and it looked "off", so I tried finding the best before date. I found it hidden behind the sticker, and I know why. It expired Dec 2021! Then I contacted the store manager, and got told " it's fine, it's frozen!"... Well, my husband is a manager at FORTINO'S and he's appaled at how this situation was handled. I will not be returning! Pictures for proof.
Very crowded today but scored some great deals....lots of variety....specialty items....some things kind if pricey but got a tray of carmalized ginger chicken and rice for only $10....4lbs of food and a package of smoked sausages for $5...BONUS
Top-notch Beef Barley Soup!! Bought it frozen from my local grocer. $7.98 for 500ml. Absolutely amazing flavour! Not too salty410mg/250ml. It's a must try if you like beef barley soup.
The main reason we come here is for the best bread pizza in town. Unfortunately, it's not the same anymore. The pizza dough used to be fluffy and airy like there buns. Not anymore, it's now dense and chewy. We thought it's was just a fluke when we bought it a few weeks ago, but we bought it again today and it was the same. Very unfortunate, they ruined a good thing.
Usually like Zarkys. Lots of interesting products but I guess that's kinda changed with the greedy attitude that food suppliers have adopted. So yes! I found what I was looking for but I refuse to buy on impulse. Sales outlets should have respect for customers. While I can't say they are part of the issue, they are on the team. Hopefully one day we will see some decency from out greedy vendors.
I was lucky enough to try their shepherd’s pie. As a person who had a Scottish grandmother, I feel confident saying that Zarky’s shepherds pie is the best I have had … besides hers. :-
Fresh bakery and bulk up whatever you want. Big deli section and cheese. Mostly focused around fresh and very limited selection of dry goods. But they have essentials and you are able to do full grocery shopping here. Very surprised to see no name brand here. Only one item tho. It was aluminum foil and priced for 99 cents. Probably not a regular item carried here. No real public washroom but staff allowed us to use staff washroom at the back. Very friendly and very courteous.
I absolutely love this store. It has great products and pre-made dinners and so many options for dinner ideas. I shope there at least once a week.
Love the variety of pre cooked meal options, and outstanding quality. They offer foods not offered in typical grocery store. The bakery is amazing, keep up the great service.
