Pricey! A better selection than Canadian Tire for home improvement, but boy do you pay for it! Staff is numerous, but seems clickey. You're more likey to get attention if you're a local than an outsider.
What a store! Great selection, pricing and friendly staff. I loves the home decor area.
Prices are a bit high, clerks are great, management is poor. I’ve been renovating my house little by little since I moved to town 2 years ago. I’ve purchased nearly all the material from this store and most of the store staff were very helpful and showed great customer service over the years, so this review is not about them. I needed to finish up some last-minute projects by Christmas Day, so I stopped by the Young’s Home Hardware 12 PM this afternoon to pick up some materials. After paying for my stuff, I realized I needed some doors for another project I’m doing in January so I went to ask about them. When I got to the Contractors desk, the owner and the owner’s son were quite rude to me when I asked for a flyer and some prices showing their selection of doors. I understand that the store might not have materials on hand on Christmas Eve, but a simple “sorry pal, we don’t have it right now but we’ll make a note of this for later” would’ve sufficed. Instead, the owner’s son got upset that I had “asked about an item with special pricing within 30 minutes of the store closing”. The store hours were listed as “Closing Early” at the till at the front of the store - but they did not specify exactly what time they close. I don’t see how you can get upset about that, if you don’t actually post a set closing time for customers to see. If anybody can show me “Closing Early” on a clock, I’ll take down this review and post one with 5 stars instead. I would’ve let this go if this were just any of the staff, but I won’t be talked to like this by the store owner or his kids. I would advise that anybody who reads this review should take their business to a place with better prices, a better product selection and better management.

Definitely not the typically good Home Hardware customer service from this location. Sad. Picking up a prepaid order was painful; nobody seemed to want to help, nobody seemed knowledgable as we were passed from desk to desk and back again. And then we sat waiting in the yard for someone to tell us if they could even help find the 2 item order.
I called Young's Home Hardware regarding touch up paint for a metal roof. I spoke with Sherry who asked good questions to get to the bottom of the issue and then she made a series of recommendation on the best matching colour and sheen for what I needed to accomplish. She followed up with me promptly several times over the course of the day to move towards a solution. Great customer service and overall experience.
