I would highly recommend this place. True to their work. Get their help, give your best. You will achieve what you want. My sincere thanks to Laura from Guildford WorkBC who gave me hope and made me believe in my skills during my job search.
Employment ain't easy for anyone but, yes, WorkBC helps and has helped me so far. Your councillor do have vouchers for food, transit, clothing etc. Lots of computers for job searching if you need. Like I did, and still do, swallow that pride and get in there if needed. Good people in my eyes..
Very bad service and they are not trusted. I made appointment and I went there after I toke this appointment after two weeks and then I couldn't meet someone to help me because they said I don’t know how your case manager fix your appointment m already busy because name is not in the appointment that I toked from their office and I have to wait another week staff was quite rude.they said if u want to pursue my study u have to qualify LINC assessment ,i fill tht form they said u have to wait more for 3 months am already waiting from 2and half month
I am a hard hearing person, very hard to get a job. With the help of WorkBC and YMCA Self Employment Services Program, I finally get a full time job. Thanks
I have been waiting for my wage subsidy plan for a week now. The employer emailed me that she submitted all her paperwork on last Friday. I emailed the job coach about the situation and asked how the application is going. I didn't get any responses. I guess probably she is on vacation or something, however, you can transfer my case to someone else or at least let me know that you are on vacation. Now, I'm worried nobody will process my application until she gets back. Then I called the office and see if someone else can help me. The receptionist asked me to wait for her response. I don't know how many stars I should give. On one side, I think they are doing their jobs and processing my wage subsidy plan. On the other side, could you just give me some updates occasionally...
Love the staff and the angels serving inside the office and those that travel on a regular basis to teach people interview skills and resume workshops. I believe many in the lower mainland have benefited from their services. They do their best and incredibly patient throughout the process. If you have children that have grown without any work experience, they help and if you are new to town , they help and they help you more than your family would if you ask for direction or clarity. Every now and then in life you get that golden opportunity and most of the time someone is responsible to grant you that opportunity. Truly grateful and thankful for this place. A great help
Giuliana - PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE FUNDS TO COLLEGE TILL I TELL YOU. I have said this before and saying this again. Frankly speaking the changes regarding textbooks fees by the government of BC. That the laws have changed all of a sudden as per your interpretation. I find it very wishy-washy and in this pandemic time government has changed the law. Dealing with you from day one has been like banging my head against the wall. I strictly do not buy it the government of BC will revise the textbook fee law when they are encouraging you to go back to school.. You did not even show me the amended copy of the textbook law when I came in yesterday. Something smells like a smoking gun
very good resource room but getting more service is a dice roll, yes they double book appointments assuming most do not show up etc. Getting actual service results like having your tickets renewed etc is hit and miss some get everything and more while others get no service after 6 months plus I received virtually no actual job search service in the old days they called you with an actual job in 2 or 3 weeks. my advice read the reviews but old school placement style of service is virtually extinct. Partly because of this attitude I had to work temporary employment and wait a year to try again...I do not think they realise your needs when you support 6 kids you have very little time for the red tape. these types of agencies have skilled placement staff, that can match and apply you to a position in minutes. If they continue to waste time in meetings etc then they are just loosing out on some very skilled employees with just minor bs red tape issues. that said if you are dealing with family law issues this place might save you some money on completing the family law endless red tape not that it will likely make any change in a corrupt legal system anyways. Equal parenting law is the real fix and chop these red tape producers wages to screw up peoples live so badly that living in Canada is a complete waste of time and energy, The land of the free is out of service. If you think you can raise a family here and own a home without issues you are mistaken.
Receptionist not very helpful, tried setting up an appointment, was like pulling teeth, first told they don't do that then told they do. The day before that was told someone would call me back and they never did. Some workers here don't know what they are doing.
I have a very good experience with This office. The staff is warm and supportive. I have also attended the resume writing workshop which was conducted by Laura and I must say she is amazing. Thanks.
