All I can say is "Wow". Incredible sit-down-at-home atmosphere, the nicest staff and knows the menu inside out, but... The food. The food is what makes you really remember this place. While the prices may look a little more than normal, when you see and taste the food, you will understand why. Every bite was a new experience and you could tell everything was handcrafted and made with care. This is the kind of place you take your parents in law to ask them if you can marry their daughter. It's that good. Very limited seating, so call ahead for reservations.

I am a regular here, the reason is both the staff and the food are great! As others have mentioned the place is casual fine dining. A great place to dress up, but also you can feel comfortable coming in from a hike in the hills. It's a small place with a nice summer patio and a 4 seat bar in addition to the dinning area. Great view over the Sooke Basin.

Top 25 restaurant meals of my life. I came in exhausted in a wool sweater, soaking wet with muddy boots and was made to feel at home. But at the same time I felt as if I could have come on a wonderful, quiet, dressy date night. I come from working in the industry, not heavily embellished, and knowledgeable regarding culinary intricacies. But I do have a firm appreciation for quality and can tell when love is put into a meal. I ordered a pork dish, accompanied by polenta amongst a crowd of other delights. The best pork flavor I have experienced. The dish with appetizers, as a whole, enters my mental score chart admirably. A wonderful meal, created with collaboration of all the local farms, foragers, fishermen and other groups. All served from a caring group of staff, with extensive knowledge, and apparent investment of love. You are missing out if you do not come here. Their food is a labour of love.

Wild Mountain is the finest dining available in Sooke. Their commitment to the tenants of Slow Food coupled with unbridled enthusiasm and creativity make this place a true gem. If without a reservation, try to grab a seat at the bar where you can still enjoy everything on offer.
