This is one of the lower ends restaurant that I’ve visited. There was a strand of hair on the food when it was served to us…. The restaurant air smells a bit strange as soon as we walked in. The store owner was not willing to provide an extra bowl. The food was very mediocre…but the fried shredded potatoes was the worst I’ve had….not recommended overall
The owner was really thoughtful and gave the spices a light touch after knowing it was our first time there but I told her she can put the normal amount next time we drop by. Really liked the food! 100% recommend their Dan Dan noodlesFood: 5/5
Note: They Moved to 3250 Midland Ave This place is located near Brimley and Sheppard! It’s very hidden inside a plaza beside TD bank. The store is about three years old and the owner is an older couple who’s from Sichuan, Chengdu! The store is very small, they only got three individual square table and four seats by the window. Even thought the store is quite small, but the food is for sure delicious and price is affordable and reasonable. I love the house special which is Sichuan traditional spicy noodle $6 and steamed spare pork ribs$6.50 also I love the Sichuan sausage $6.50After a hot spicy noodle, then have a small ball of ice jelly $3 which completes me. The only down side of the store would be the language. If you don’t speak Mandarin at all, then the communication would be little hard. The only thing you can go by is the menu which has English on it, but the owner don’t speak much of English at all, so I would strongly suggest you to bring a Chinese friend with you or a dictionary if you can! Also if you don’t eat spicy food, then this place will not suitable for you, because they socialized in spicy food, also because where they from! So other than, I love the restaurant and the owner and the food! It’s a must try restaurant. Hope my information can trigger your taste for spicy food! Also because this is a small restaurant they only have one person cook, so when it’s busy you might have to wait a little longer. Sometimes you can call to order food ahead, but doesn’t mean food will be done when you arrive, because they didn’t say anywhere that they offer this service to public, it’s just out courtesy that they take your request on phone, so don’t automatically assume they have Call to Order Services!
Great food and kind owner. I love their Chili oil.Food: 5/5
Really tasty ! We ordered 3 dishes. 2 main and 1 side dish. Dan Dan mian is really good! So does the chicken ! Definitely will go back when we are in the area.
This restaurant is run by elderly couples. Very friendly n food is good n price very reasonable. We must support small business like this so they dont close.Food: 4/5
Okay tried this place for the first time. It was mostly empty but that okay for a Sunday. I tried the beef noodles and my better half tried the beef glass noodles. I don't mind spicy but always remember if the cook uses too much be wary. Overall it was okay. The service was mediocre, the water was basic tap without even a lemon in it I'm used to lemons in my water, it helps with digestion and other things. The noodles were just right, the bits of beef if you can call it that would have been better in a stew. Two twigs of Shanghai Bok Choy, and mung beans drier than the meat sticks I chew on. For a moment I thought they were peanuts. Would I go again? Probably not for the amount I paid. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. I'll update this if I every float by her again.
Really like their noodles!! So good!!! Must try their spicy sausage..so tasty!!
We really like this lovely little place. The dishes are very authentic, and taste like home made. It actually reminds me of my grandma’s cooking.
Very disappointed! I went there about three times, 1 year apart between each time i went as I did not live in the region. Considering the food portion and quality, it is very pricy. Their brand name sounds very attractive as the Wide Alley is a well-known place in the food capital city in China. I held high expectations for the food quality. However, the food did not taste that authentic, it is actually below average. Moreover, the staff was rude. I had very unpleasant experience during my last visit. Will never go back again. If you are looking for authentic Sichuan food, avoid this one. There are a lot Chinese restaurant far way better than this one.
