Darcey and her team at Whimsical Cake Studio did an amazing job on our wedding cakes - we had three. They were so unique, flavorful, and tailored to meet the dietary restrictions required for one of our cakes gluten and dairy free.

We ordered cake for my daughter's birthday party from here. The design of the cake was exactly what we wanted, and the flavors were spot on as well. However, the crust was very dry and hard, so much that it took over the flavors and became the talking point of the party. It was pretty embarrassing to be honest. For the price of $150 one would not expect such a shoddy work. This is something which clearly could have been avoided as visibly the crust does not seem normal for a vanilla flavored cake. Edit - Was contacted by the owner and provided an explanation regarding the mistake. The owner was apologetic and will be crediting the money back as the cake was not up to their standards. I understand that errors happen, but what I appreciate more is the honesty and fairness of the owner. Hence, I have updated my rating from 2 to 4 stars.

After another memorable encounter with Darcy from this delightful business on Whyte Ave, I wanted to share a sextet of amazing cupcakes she and her team created. As you can see, the Beatles are one of my passions. And my God, you can see the Capitol Records label! How do they do that??!! That is the attention to detail I have come to appreciate and expect from these artists. Besides lovely Belle and ferocious Godzilla from past birthdays, this was my turn for a birthday treat. This business is more than a just a cake shop. Darcy is Heaven-sent in these trying times of war and all of us wondering is Covid over or not. She is the daughter I never had, full of artistry and beauty and love and attention to detail, generous and kind to those who are generous and kind to her. This is not just a review of a business. This is an appreciation of a person. This is to tell you that Darcy will bring sweetness into your life with more than sugar. She is lovely and caring. Head on down to discuss your dreams of a special cake or baked treat for someone special. She is a special person, one who deserves your business. She would be special if she was working at Wendy's or Ikea, but here she is creating magic from sugar and spice. Darcy and her team are extremely talented. I discussed with her the the creation of a very intricate Winnie the pooh cake. My girl ended up loving her cake so thank you very much Darcy. She is also very fair to deal with when mishap's happen and in guidance whether she gets the business or not. A very honest and fair baker who can execute detail. Thank you again for helping make her birthday memorable.

Whimsical Cake Studio was amazing!! We had an issue with another cake studio leaving us with the shortest notice possible to not be able to do our wedding cake. We went into Whimsical Cake Studio on a Sunday, and they were able to make our cake dreams come true for our wedding with pick up on friday morning!! They were honest about being busy and what they could and could not do, which I appreciated. But the cake turned out 100% amazing!! The flavor of the cake was vanilla velvet, and peanut butter icing. It was super yummy, plus looked awesome!! If anyone is looking for a custom cake in Edmonton, I would 100% recommend the Whimsical Cake Studio, I feel like they could do any cake you wanted!! Thank you all!!

Grabbed a couple cake balls and freeze dried skittles. The cake balls are super super sweet. We got banana cake with strawberry filling, and vanilla cake with cookie dough filling. We probably only needed one to share. The freeze dried skittles were not really that special. They had a lot of freeze dried things there for some reason.

Ordered the small Gilded Chocolate Cake with Strawberry Buttercream filling today Best Chocolate Cake I’ve had in a long time! And the icing… yep it’s real Buttercream alright Thank you Whimsical Cake Shop

I’m quite pleased with my experience at Whimsical! The cake looked great! The creative team did well with making the cake look exactly how I wanted it to look. The cake itself was good too; it had good flavour and was not too dry or dense. The ladies at the bakery were quite friendly too! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to friends/family.

Darcy and her team did our wedding cake and 150 cake pops for our big day. They were a huge hit. Darcy was incredibly responsive every time I emailed. I was also able to send a picture of our wedding colors and they were able to match it so closely. It was absolutely perfect!
