Pretty amazing Cruffin Croissant & Muffin, with a vanilla custard filling. Great taste, very flaky and would get again. Everything inside the place is so meticulous done, from the decor, to the statement wall piece, to the seating to even the bathrooms! Great job on the decor, very clean and friendly staff. Truly a gem in downtown!
Great cafe and bakery options. They even have vegan options for donuts. Tried both vegan and non-vegan donuts and they are delicious. Can't wait to go back and try their other pastries. They also open at 7am which is nice for us early risers. Also great atmosphere and friendly owners.
What a delight Ayco is. First off, they're in tough with two other well established Edmonton coffee houses in the same block. However, Ayco has its own special place with an assortment of amazing baked goods in exquisite doughnuts, croissants and cruffins. The place is immaculately clean and boasts a European flair when you enter. A piano along the wall. Some furniture appearing to be some form of modern blow up transparent adornments. The coffee is spectacular and the treats are amazing. I just wonder why there is still no signage on the building to let us know they exist. I hope Ayco can thrive alongside Coffee Bureau and Lock Stock in the same neighborhood. I can't see why not as each of the three appeals to entirely different needs...but all centered around great Java. Five stars!
I was ready to take off some stars because the drink menu is simple and unexciting BUT the flavors are 10/10 and the pastries are so delicious, unique, and obviously made in house! Definitely recommend checking this place out. Plus their white room is Instagram worthy for sure!
A clean and pleasant cafe in EDMs core. Only had a donut but loved it. My wife had a danish and thought it was similarly delicious. Will definitely be back for more! Edit: Came back for more. I had a donut again same one as last time, but this time, it wasn't particularly fresh tasting, and it had sort of a weird aftertaste. Not sure what happened. Edit 2: I've come back for even more - have to bump it right back up to 5 stars, everything is just so tasty. The scones, the donuts, the danish, etc. My other experience must have been a one-off! Staff is also really friendly here.
Great vibe and finally a great downtown bakery and cafe RIP Dauphine. They have espresso tonics, which is awesome and not super common in Edmonton yet. My butter pecan tart was delicious, as can be seen in my photo lol.
I was just randomly come in Ayco Cafe but I really enjoyed the fresh atmosphere while drinking my coffee. it was the best flat white coffee I’ve tried in Edmonton.
I had a superfantastic capuccino served with a little chocolate beside, and bagel egg and bacon, it was sooo delicious... that I forgot to take a picture of it, my husband had a smoked salmon sandwich and a pistacho cruffin. It was busy early on a Saturday morning. Reasonable prices, desserts, sandwiches, coffee including espresso drinks. We also ordered a box of caprese panino they were delicious, fresh tomato with homemade arugola pesto and fresh bocconcini. We will definitely be back to try all the goods. A cozy gem in Downtown!
Response to owners response - even 4 stale donuts isn't worth $6. I'm aware you don't get to choose what we get in our Too Good to Go box, and certainly don't expect freshly baked items as mentioned in my review. Even if I were to go to your cafe and order a freshly baked glazed donut or long john for $3.50 or $3.75, that is way overpriced for those items and would be disappointed. Feel free to email me if you have further comments. My review is based on the customer service and ambiance of this location because if I only rated it on the baking I received, it would be a one star. I ordered a "Too Good To Go Box" which is a mystery item box for $6. You don't know what you're going to get, it's usually baked items that are end of day goods. The box was $6. I wasn't expecting freshly baked items, but I had looked at their menu to see what kinds of things they bake and their menu is impressive! I picked up our box on a Saturday morning, and the ambiance was very cute and welcoming. The customer service was great as well. That's why it's 3 stars. I opened up our box and it was 3 plain glazed donuts and 1 long john. Normal price for each item was $3.50 and $3.75. None of the donuts were very good, very boring and if I had paid full price, I would have been mad. Even for $6, that's way too expensive for four plain donuts. Based on this experience, I definitely wouldn't order another mystery box from them, and if I went to their location, I would stick to a beverage.
This place has the worst coffee I’ve ever had in my life. I asked for a cappuccino, but I got some watered down drink that doesn’t even compare with Tim Hortons. The pastry is just okay. Never coming back, please save yourself the disappointment.
