Very unique spot with exotic flavors you don't find often. We ordered Mango pancakes mostly whip cream..., Almond soup with sesame rice balls, and the Taiwanese sausage. Very Asian flavors. Doesn't seem westernized at all! I've never had Hong Kong desserts before so nothing to compare it to. Fun to check out but wasn't my favorite. Bubble tea was standard and the inside looks like it's under construction. Service was okay.
Dessert sizes were good. It’s a nice place if you’re craving Hong Kong inspired desserts! A little pricey but overall, it was tasty. The mango sago was my fave.
Craving for some dessert so head down to her before work. The place was super cute and modern. Great selection of desserts. I had durian before but as candy or ice cream, so this was a treat to eat real durian. I really love the smell as well.
Nice place in Whyte Ave to get a hongkong style dessert... we love the one with mangoes on it, and the one with matcha ice cream and black jellies... Not sure though about the one with chia seeds as we accidentally ordered it but overall loved their dessert
One of the slowest places I've ever been to. It's clean and nice here but don't come here unless you don't mind waiting for them to grow the mangos. I could have driven to T&T, went home, and made it myself faster than they did.
A charming new dessert cafe on whyte ave. All the food looks really good and tastes even better; the service is very polite as well. I recommend anything with mango in it, you simply cannot go wrong! Durian is more of an acquired taste, just keep that in mind for those not familiar with it. I hear their best sellers include the mango pancakes; definitely something to try next time you drop by!
The grass jelly had no flavour at all. Zero. There were a few little pieces of pomelo and mango with the sago. If the taste was better, I'd accept the stinginess but the sago wasn't good either. Really disappointing. We order often from Meet Fresh and the quantity and quality is miles ahead for a little bit more money. Would not recommend and will not return.
Super slow service. It was not even busy and for what the desserts are it should not have taken as long as it did to prepare or serve. I know it is customary for Asian desserts to be less sweet compared to non asian type desserts but the desserts here were borderline bland. Place was very dirty as well. The table bases were covered in mud and there was dirt and gravel all over the floor of the entryway and under the tables that clearly had not been swept and mopped for days if not months. Complete waste of time and money. Will not be back.
Terrible service, mediocre food. I had a gift card with a remaining balance but no one knew how to redeem the gift card. It was for $100 and I had only visited 3 times before. There's no way I could've spent it all on previous visits alone. They must've reset their backend system or something because by the time they figured it out they said my balance was $0. Besides the gift card fiasco, they had music blasting right at the order desk. I turned it down so I could discuss what to order with my friends, and they used Bluetooth to turn it back up, knowing we were right there about to order. And rather than being helpful and answer questions, they pretended not to hear and went to the back to scroll through their phones with 2 other employees. When we ordered they asked which table we were sitting at so she could place our order... There were zero customers in the entire store, and in fact no dine in customers the entire time we were there. Like come on, use common sense. This is supposed to be a Hong Kong style dessert shop and while I understand that some menu items have to change to adapt to other Chinese students nearby, they started using Simplified Chinese on their signs instead of Traditional Chinese, further neglecting the original diaspora community the dishes are intended for. But that's neither here nor there. Other times I've come, they block out desserts which take time to prepare beyond the microwave they use to heat up if it needs a pot and stove, they don't bother and tell you it's a 30 minute wait to deter you from ordering. We shared a dessert hot pot at regular sweetness which had no flavour at all, including no taste to any of the toppings except the crystal ball one. We had to ask for additional syrup, which as someone who doesn't take sweetness to desserts, which means that there's no thought nor quality control to their dishes. After adding syrup, it was decent, but definitely not a Hong Kong style milk tea, nor proper toppings available for a HK dessert. Now that my gift card seems to be empty, I don't think I'll be returning here, and it's evident by the fact that no one else was there other than us. I might try the Saskatoon location instead to see if there's a difference next time.
I’ve been here twice and they have an amazing selection of desserts. Taro balls in red bean soup is definitely my favorite at this place. The hearty Walnut soup and the sago pudding are also great sweet treats for a chilly fall night.
