I had the best chicken wings here, and during lunchtime, they had the special deal for half price. The place looks very comfortable and has a lot of seating capacity. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You have a lot of choices from the menu as well. My favourite was the chicken wings. Five star for sure, let me know what you think?
A true gem! Had the wings medium and it was so good. Also shared onion rings with my husband. Great pub! Strongly recommend it.
It's a bit of a dive but a nice one with a long history. They are really friendly and the food and beer are good. Live music some nights. Lots of loud TV sports at times. Bangers and Mash.
Went out for a few drinks pretty late on a weekend. Almost walked by them until we heard the live band inside. Great live artists, great playlists, great staff and overall a really good experience. Drinks were great as expected and service was quick even on a busy night.
When I arrived I placed my jacket in the empty booth are friend reserved but they where not there yet to check in. The blond waitress came up and grapped my jacket on the booth and threaten to call security and have us kicked out if we didn’t remove one jacket from empty booth. No hello no can you please remove jacket. She was very rude. Are friends came at exact moment so we ended up staying as there was a group of us celebrating a birthday! There was karaoke which was surprisingly a lot of fun a lot of talent . I would definitely go back. There are other servers in there that are quite friendly!
It’s the place to be on a Thursday night. Great atmosphere and live band karaoke by Good Enough Live Karaoke, makes you feel like a rockstar. Staff are friendly and there’s free parking on King street after 9pm.
I loved the vibe. Very energetic with live music. Cozy and fun. The food was good portion specially fries. My hot honey chicken sandwich was a bit on the sweet side and the sauce was runny so it was difficult to eat but very delicious
Wow. This place was such a disappointment. Came here with friends to watch the Canada World Cup game this past weekend. We arrived at 10:15 and stood in the rain as the Instagram said doors would open for World Cup at 10:30. We were about midpoint in line, and it’s quite a big bar so we were excited as we knew we’d get a good seat. 10:30 rolls around and the doors did not open. 10:35, nothing. 10:40, nothing. Finally at 10:43 the manager came out. As everyone was excited to go in, we realized he only came out to pull his buddies out of the line to get them seats. Not only was that not how any bar should operate, the very first person in line was an older gentleman who absolutely should have been sat before “pals”. Finally, at about 10:50-10:55, we were given access to the bar. BUT, when we walked in about 75% of tables were reserved and much to our dismay big groups were already seated with beers. So, we scrambled to make do. Found a spot with *almost* enough chairs for the whole group. But it shockingly got worse. Those reserved tables sat empty and only a handful were filled at about an hour into the game. And when we left, we noticed a few big ones still sitting empty. I’d also like to highlight that we missed the beginning of the game, anthems and kickoff. Our drinks were slow and we had ordered food that just never arrived within the game time. Super disappointing and will be taking my business elsewhere.
It was my first time coming back to the Wheatsheaf since it's reopening and renovation, prior to that I'd been coming to the place on and off for years so I was eager to try it out again. All COVID protocols were on point and followed, the staff was really nice about everything which was a nice contrast to a place we had just walked into and walked right back out of down the street minutes earlier. The patio was good, standard bar fare, food wasn't anything special, but the sheaf has always been that kinda place so it wasn't any real surprise. Spicy marinara for the mozzarella sticks was . I'll be back again I'm sure, probably for a wing night, definitely wasn't a bad experience. Really looking forward to checking out the inside once things are reopened fully.
My friends and I had a great time here last weekend! However, sometimes they randomly decide they want to charge for entry at the door. One time I decided not to go in here because of that, and last weekend our whole group went in and the bouncer wanted to charge the last member of our group, which isn’t really nice. Other than that, I loved the live music
