Lactation clinic was great and very helpful. Dr. Barker was nice and very informative with regards to breastfeeding tips and advices. The nurse was good and cheerful to us too. They have their own store for baby products for feeding like bottles, nipple heads and herb medicines. Lots of parking spots at the back of the building. Very convenient location with surrounding pharmacy, mini mart, restaurants, salon and schools.
I was referred here by a public health nurse to have our baby’s tongue tie looked at. The clinic is bright and clean. Reception staff is always friendly. We saw Dr. Hartman who is an IBCLC—he is so thorough in explaining everything, always checks to see if you have concerns or questions, and listens to them carefully. He took care of our baby’s tongue tie and has done hundreds of them. No issues or concerns with the procedure at all, and we were given very specific aftercare instructions. It’s been 4 weeks, there have been no complications and my baby’s latch has improved from the procedure. I’ve since been back to see Dr. Hartman a few times and will continue to periodically check in with him throughout our breastfeeding journey. He’s provided us with excellent care and advice, and also referred us to a fantastic osteopath who helped improved our baby’s latch further and now breastfeeding has significantly improved. I’m very thankful to have been referred to this clinic and Dr. Hartman!
West Glen medical has been amazing. In 2 months I've had 4 lactation appointments with Dr. Barry. She's truly been heaven sent!! She's thorough, kind, informative and genuinely cares. She answers all my questions and never makes me feel rushed. Front desk staff have also been great! All around good experience.
I can’t begin to express how disappointed I am with the service here. We went for a lactation consultant appointment that seemed hopeful- they recommended a few different options. Because we live out of town we purchased some options so we had them if needed and were told we could return if we went down a different route. When we decided to go down a different route- I called to confirm that I could return them. They said that I could. When I went in to return the sealed products they would not allow it due to their “Covid policy” …. For sealed glass containers that could easily be wiped down with an alcohol wipe. We’ve already been having a tremendously hard week with health concerns and to add an hour long drive with sick and upset children- just to be refused a return is absolutely horrible customer service. They should be training their front staff team better for knowing their return policies or at minimum making a wrong right if their staff communicated something incorrect. Now we’ve wasted time and money we can’t get back and we are stuck with product we will not use. Very very disappointed in the management. I had recommended them to multiple friends but will be telling them to find some place else now. New moms with lactation issues are already going through enough without other added stress
Thought we had already posted this but cannot say enough about this place! We had Dr Hartman and he was amazingly helpful. He not only made us feel comfortable and supported but he was incredibly knowledgeable. Was having so many difficulties breastfeeding and with our baby’s tongue tie, and he has helped change everything. Thank you Dr Hartman!!
I just experienced how absolutely unprofessional the administration and management of this clinic is. I have been a client here for a decade with one of their doctors as my family physician. It has always been incredibly difficult to actually speak to anyone at reception, always being either put on hold indefinitely or they just never answer. However, today takes the cake. My prescriptions are long term so I typically don't need to talk to my doctor for 5-6 months at a time unless something different comes up. I faxed in a prescription refill 2 days ago. They just called me back and informed me that my family doctor stopped working there months ago, she's not even practicing family medicine anymore. When I asked why I was never notified of this until I was in dire need of a refill, they had no answer for me. I asked what happened to the rest of her client list and was told that some of them were taken on by other doctors there but others chose to change clinic entirely.... which implies that They were notified and yet I was not. The best they could offer me was to go for a walk-in appointment and see 'if' whichever doctor I got would be willing to write me a refill. I am completely shocked and disgusted by the level of disregard I have been shown by this clinic. Clearly something needs to be done about their management and client communication procedures immediately. There is no excuse for this appalling treatment.
Wonderful lactation clinic! We saw Dr. Brian Hartman. It was immediately clear he is passionate about this field of medicine. He is very positive and makes you feel confident in what you are doing. The improvement in breastfeeding has been like night and day after just one visit.
I followed a family doctor to this clinic about 10-12 years ago. In this time, I have switched family doctors numerous times because they have a difficult time keeping physicians. Every doctor I have seen, I have been very pleased with - but this loses the appeal of having a family doctor who gets to know you and your medical history when you are continuously being shuffled The reception team is horrendous. I have recently left a handful of voicemails because I am unable to get through on the phones multiple days at a time, and none of my calls have been returned. Since I am having concerns for my child, I do feel extra urgency that I am not able to get through to someone. I will be removing my children from the clinic moving forward.
The worst clinic ever!! Receptionists are the worst! Not helpful at all! I did a chest X ray for my son and all of my families are sick so they didnt agree that doctor call me to give the results! Doctors are hard to see! Please dont go there if you have other options!!!
The office has always been very accommodating when we have needed appointments. Dr. Mina Derakhshan is always patient, she’s very kind and helpful in making referrals wherever needed.
