Calgary Well Woman Clinic

This was such a nice experience for what is normally a scary experience PAP. Dr Ling Mu was fantastic. She made me feel so calm, and settled when I got in here. This was my first experience of medical care since I moved to Canada from Ireland. 10/10. I hope it’s always this good. Thank you Dr Mu. I can’t forget Darlene either - the loveliest receptionist!

I love this clinic and all of the staff. I had an IUD put in with Dr. Subedi, she was extraordinary and extremely comforting. I had a pap done with Dr. Morgan and it was quick and painless. They really do their best to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed while you’re there.

Awful, I went in with severe hormonal issues, PCOS, a big ovarian cyst and endometriosis that I was diagnosed with at the hospital. Symptoms that my life has been significantly impaired by. I read online this clinic would be helpful, however all I was met with was a bizarre, cold consultation telling me that ‘I am fine’ and that getting an IUD would solve my issues? I am on a journey now with the right medical help and direction, though this clinic was incredibly misleading and discouraging of my issues. I would not recommend.

This was hands down the best experience I've had at a Well Women's clinic. Darlene, Emma and Dr Morgan are all incredibly professional. I highly recommend this location.

Great clinic! All doctors and nurses are females so you feel pretty comfortable, and you don't have worry about some rando family dr looking into your hoohah.

I recommend this clinic enthusiastically. Friendly, accommodating staff run an efficient office. I didn’t encounter a long wait at all for an appointment. I was able to be seen the same week that I called. I saw Dr. MacQueen who was very nice and has a reassuring manner. She answered all of my questions and didn’t make me feel rushed. After my exam she offered to check when my next mammogram was due, and created the requisition for me. My only suggestion for the clinic would be to address accessibility on their website and Google Maps listing in terms of how they accommodate patients with mobility issues. They do a great job of this, but they don’t include this info anywhere online that I can see other than to describe the entrance. To enter the building there is a wheelchair ramp as well as a short set of stairs with handrails on both sides. The entrance doors are wide enough for wheelchairs although the doors don’t appear to be automatic. There is a main floor exam room for patients who would have difficulty with the stairs to the second floor. They also have a modified exam table in the exam room on the main floor which is easier to manage than a conventional exam table. If you require this accommodation you need to mention your needs when you book your appointment, otherwise you may be booked in a room upstairs. Overall it was a very good experience. My exam results arrived by mail about three weeks later.

My experience here recently with dr. Packer was amazing! I have a lot of anxiety and she really took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and safe. I really appreciate her taking the time to make sure that I had a positive experience. All the women here are quite nice. I will definitely continue to go back to doctor Packer for all my lady needs.

This clinic is wonderful! All the staff are kind and helpful. I had a bit of dizziness after the procedure and had to rest for a bit, but the staff were patient and comforting. Absolutely recommend this clinic!

I have been coming to the Calgary Well Woman Clinic for over 10 years. Their staff, including the receptionists, doctors and nurses are not only incredibly professional but they also make me feel like I’m visiting my favorite aunties. For a lot of women getting a PAP can be an uncomfortable experience but all of the doctors here are incredibly gentle and efficient. They are also excellent at answering all questions in a compassionate and sensitive manner. I could not recommend this clinic more.

I went to this clinic about a year ago and saw Dr. Karen Packer. She is so lovely and I truly felt like she cared about my health and wanted to do everything she could to help me. I would definitely recommend her as a doctor! However, the wait times are ridiculous. I arrived 15 minutes early for my initial appointment, and waited almost an hour to be seen. Which I was fine with after leaving, because I received such wonder care from Dr. Packer, and was able to accomplish more than I anticipated for this appointment. I ended up booking a follow up appointment to have my first ever IUD inserted. But before I had my IUD inserted, I was called by the reception and they called me in for an emergency ultrasound! I drove 30 minutes to get there in a panic, and sat in the waiting room for around 45 minutes, only to find out that they called the wrong person needless to say, their reception is a bit disorganized. I am writing this review now because I am now experiencing cramps and bleeding, I called the clinic and they urged me to call 811 or see my family doctor - which is understandable as they were not able to see me for about a week. I’m a bit frustrated when I discovered that I should’ve been *shown* by my doctor not dr. Packer, a different doctor did the insertion how to tell if my IUD is in the correct place. Now my IUD might be dislodged when this could have been avoided. Even after my insertion I could never find the string, and I thought it was normal because it was soon after my appointment. I understand that it is my responsibility to an extent to do research and ensure that everything is correct, but that is not mandatory. I should be able to trust that the procedure was done correctly and shown how to tell if it correct. All in all, I don’t think I’ll be going back to this clinic ever again. It’s just too much of a hassle, and because they’re so busy, some information does not get passed along properly.
