Watkins Glen Villager Motel

This is an excellent $40 hotel. Trouble is it costs 4 times that. Pros: It's near other places so you can easily leave. Cons: It has the look, feel and clientele of a cheap hotel located in an alley. If you like geriatric bikers talking drinking and loudly outside your window and in the halls late at night, this is for you.

Room was fine, hair dryer was very old and didn't blow hard enough to be worth using, only had low speed. No clock/radio in the room at all, no idea what time it was. No towel bar or even a hook in the bathroom at all. You had to remember to bring a towel in from the other room, then sit it on the toilet or floor...yuk. I pre paid for 5 nights, had family issue and had to leave early. No refund, even though I gave notice so that they could rent the room out. It was a fully booked weekend, so I am sure that they rented out the room for those 2 nights. Bad customer service Villager, I will tell others.

For the price of a Manhattan hotel, I expected way more. Tiles in bathroom are loose. Carpet got my feet dirty. No iron. Didn't bother with pool, which wouldn't make up for outdated rooms. Staff was nice though.

I stayed here for the races. Room was to conventional standards with all the amenities I needed. Took were fluffy & soft. Pillows were perfect and everything was clean. Refrigerator included in room and the staff could not be more accommodating of my needs. Aloha!
