Village Inn Motel Holt

This is a nice, cozy, old-school motel. It is clean, well-maintained and even has brand new stuff in it, like drapes, chairs, bed-clothes and kitchenette appliances. Oh, yeah... THERE'S A KITCHENETTE!! You could like economically here for a week and maintain your own food, do your own microwave cooking, wash dishes; yes, they even threw in the kitchenette sink! Let's talk about the bed, where you spend most of your time in a motel: It's big, firm, clean... in fact, the sheets are so clean and white, they're brightness in cozy motel lighting will impress anyone! Whitest sheets I ever slept on. Good job, Gina and crew! The plumbing is good, as are the updated bathrooms. There's a big, clean dresser for your clothes, a closet with wooden hangers to hang them up, a flat screen TV, even an ironing board with an full-sized iron. And it's all run by a super-nice lady named, Gina. If you want to bring the kids to a place to have an old-school vacation as to your digs, this is it! Show them how hotels/motels used to be run and set up as a family business, not these corporate cookie-cutter-one-size-fits-all-with-chintzy-components-and-soulless-architecture places, especially in this quiet small town setting; yet, just a literal stone's throw away from Lansing. There's good WIFI too! This one is going on my list of places to stay every time I'm in Lansing! And I almost forgot... there is even artwork over the bed.

Unlike your more expensive hotels - motels, no-one came around to see if we needed clean towels, washclothes each day. The air - heat kept shutting off on it's own. We were also told we could not stay any longer than one more night because the room was booked by someone else. I find it hard to believe that all 25 rooms are booked. You hardly see a lot of vehicles here. I think the reason why they told us that is we booked the room on line, and we got a discount. We were not told anything about the room being booked. You don't book something that will not be available for a period of time.

Booked a room for two nights. Pulled back the covers and found bed bugs. Went to the office and she refused to refund our money. Ended up paying 30 bucks to be in the room for less than two hours...do not recommend this place at all! Plus there was dried urine all around the toilet and behind it on the wall and someone else's hair in the shower. This was in one of their big rooms as well as a smaller room up front.

Needed a place for the night, large room with kitchen but very dirty and in desperate need of a renovation. The beds were very uncomfortable, the carpet was filthy. I was glad not to find any bed bugs or roaches. Should have spent the extra $10 on better hotel.
