Village Inn

This is, sadly, my first very negative review of a restaurant. We visited for a quick dinner on a Saturday evening. It was awful. While in line to pay, the cashier said to the patron in front of us, and subsequently to us, that "they hadn't expected the rush." OK, they acknowledged the problem, but that's kinda sorta blaming the customers. Had there been a line for seating, we would have shrugged, said "this place is very popular", and gone to a counter service place. Instead we were seated. And here is why I said "awful": 1) Store menu did not match on-line menu: Pot roast and meatloaf where not present on the store menu. 2) Service was poor. Server was slow to arrive at table. Food took approximately 40 minutes from order to table. 3) Food was poor. Dry (though hot) hamburger served with cold limp fries made me wonder what had gone on in the kitchen. Tilapia smelled strikingly fishy, even from across the table. We had no time to complain and wait for a remake, so we picked through the food we had, passed on the included desert and went to pay. This place is locally popular. I certainly hope this was a one time breakdown in the kitchen, but I'm rating my visit, not my hope, and the place gets one star.

We come here occasionally, typically the food and service are awesome. This past weekend was not so much on either. Server took about 15 minutes to approach our table (just two of us). My husband's burger was ordered incorrectly and needed to be re made. My omelet looked like it was assembled by a toddler, my vegetables were cold and were on top, not inside. There was also a table including about 8 kids behind us that were being obnoxious, spitting at each other and one kept walking between tables and touching me, not the restaurants fault, but it added to the unpleasant experience.

I am rating a 3 star as to not be baised, seeing as I work in this establishment. I am mentioning some things that people have found wrong in the below reviews. 1. Poor Service - the servers, on weekends, recieve many orders at a time and have to put them through. - The hosts are at fault on occasion when the server does not come because the hosts fail to call back numbers. - As much as as server or host should keeps their emotions in check working at an establishment such as this, sometimes days are very hard. We are only human. - Servers have to serve the food to other tables that come first. 2. Food Quality - The cooks on a weekend, and some week days, are bombarded with food orders and it is difficult to get all the orders out in a timely matter. -Cooks do indeed make mistakes as well. Just look on any cooking show. Those cooks are 5 star culinary school masters that work in 5 Star restaurants. - If you do have a problem with your food, make sure to talk to your server, the mananger, or a supervisor. 3. Waiting in Lines - Sometimes we do indeed get heavy rushes, especially on the weekends. The wait isn't normally too long, unless you bring in a larger party (group.) - Check the google chart to see when the best time to come in is! Note: I tried to make this as non biased and informative as possible, to help the public understand a little more! Sorry if you feel at all this is a bad review!

Good food, good service, fair prices. Wait staff very friendly. Good place for groups, too

Eggs over easy weren't done. Waitress never asked how our food was. Bacon was fried up in a clump. They were busy but there was no waiting line. Waitress brought the check and never asked if we wanted anything else. I've been in busier Village Inns that food and service were still excellent.
