Good food, good location, helpful staff. I hadn't been to this restaurant in years but stopped in this week for lunch. The updates look good, clean and more modern than I expected. The website was helpful. We ordered the deep friend spring rolls, Tom Yum soup with chicken and Chef's Special Curry with pork. Excellent flavour and lots of variety in veg with ample protein. I also had a Vietnamese iced coffee the coffee was heavy on the condensed milk for my personal taste. I would visit again.
My first time at Restaurant 224 was pretty good. I LOVE Vietnamese butter fried chicken wings. These had lemongrass on the top, and I found that they needed some salt, but super crispy and delicious! The wonton soup was good. However I didn’t realize that the bbq pork noodle soup is basically the same thing… except one has wontons and the other has rice noodles. My friend had the noodle bowl and said it was really good! Overall a great place in downtown Saskatoon.
We loved Restaurant224's foods and kindness. But except one New server. She served dishes without information. She just left dishes like throwing a plate. Looks like angry attitude Even We just said thank you when she gave us a menu. if i could give negative stars i would. THERE WERE BUGS IN MY SOUP. half way through eating my noodle soup, i realized there were many bugs all throughout the bowl. when i talked to the staff abt it, she just admitted they know they have bugs and try to rinse them out, yet they still serve it. they refunded me but they still charged me for my iced coffee :
Myself, my family, and my colleagues all love 224! We find ourselves often craving 224, and it's always a treat. Their menu offers a large variety of delicious Vietnamese favorites. I love their daily special, spring rolls, and deluxe wonton soup, in particular. Every order has always arrived perfect and carefully packed. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and made with quality ingredients. The portions are quite generous for the value, as well. I have never had a disappointing experience, and the restaurant staff are wonderful. I wish I could upload pictures, but I can't make myself wait long enough to take a pic before digging in.
I wanted a noodle bowl and all other places were closed. I hate going downtown because of the drug addicts and lunatics roaming around. I was able to park very close in a well lit area. I only encountered one weirdo and he blew me a kiss. The restaurant is super clean, comfortable and food was excellent. Big portion, great price, very satisfying. Changed my view of the area, honestly. I'll definitely be back soon, thoroughly impressed. Some nights I lay awake, almost able to taste the moist grilled chicken, the soft but crispy spring rolls and perfectly cooked noodles. If drowning it in fish sauce is wrong, I don't want to be right. A piece of my heart will always belong to Restaurant 224.
Delicious food, large portions, cheap price. I'll definitely eat here again! Excellent and friendly service, and lots of regulars that the staff knew by sight, so that tells you it's consistent too! Update: Washrooms very clean and modern. Big privacy stalls and wheelchair accessible.
I think Chinese food is getting too expensive! The food here is tasty, good flavor. We ordered two noodle dishes, and very little meat and vegetable. $9 each! Also on both orders we requested the same level of hot. One dish is fine, the other dish is extremely hot, there is no way to enjoy it. When I called back, the answer was, everybody likes different kind of hot. I replied by saying, would not the same level of hot be in both dishes when they are ordered at the same time? You have one cook making the noodle dishes. The reason/excuses that are given by the restaurant are tolerated by customers and yet you are giving me the wrong reason. I have measuring devices here at home, may I suggest that in order to have some unison in your orders, buy some. Parking: Street parking only, good luck!
Good value noodle bowls for a quick meal!
Super delicious food. I usually can't pick what to order and end up with lunches for the week. Delivery was much quicker than their estimate which was a nice surprise. Vegetarian options: Haven't tried them personally, but they do offer them. Kid-friendliness: Has typical American food as well for pickier eaters.
