Really disappointing experience last night. We preordered online for pickup in 90 mins. When my husband arrived they told him they didn't have the noodles to make what we ordered. They could have called us in advance; we had other hot food in the car getting cold. They created the dish using a substitute. But then they forgot to include the extra side sauce we paid for. The worst part was the calamari. Clearly overcooked. Smells like it was done deliberately to compensate for spoiled fish; very very fishy smelling which is indicative of bad fish. Not coming back.
I thought this place was bad based on on 3 attemps. aso I've chosen to avoid it for about 4 years now. Today I thought I'd give it another chance. Omg it's gross. We ordered 3 entrees and threw two in the trash Vietnamese dishes. The one that survived was the pad Thai. I drown it in hot sauce to make it edible. But the chicken was extremely overcooked and the shrimp was gross and smelled so the shrimp was tossed. Don't eat here. The only explanation that it's still open is that selling food is not their main source of income.
Amazing food! My daughter has a bunch of food allergies, but we still had lots of options. The flavours were splendid, and the service was great too. Also my kids really liked the bubble tea. We will definitely be coming back.Recommended dishesFresh Rolls, Coconut Chicken Soup, Spring Roll, Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli, Coconut Rice
This place is really good yet not everything they make as good. The best spring rolls, wonderful ginger beef, sweet and sour pork is also good, I like to get the works, it's very good and good iced coffee, I miss the tamarind soup now, wonderful amazing food I just don't really like the coconut shrimp because they're made with sweet chili sauce, not really coconut you can taste like I imagined, I was disappointed with the chili salted squid, didn't taste salty or really chili either, and pho, I've had good pho in the bistro, it seems like they don't want to send home pho with anything, just broth and noodles. Today I ordered shrimps and spring rolls on vermicelli with a passion fruit bubble tea, the bubble tea they made was horrible, tasted sour and was separated, you couldn't drink it at all, not like they used to make it, the shrimps were very plain, and always put peanuts in it which some people may not like the texture, would be nice if they make it lemongrass or try something like caramel shrimps, I made caramel shrimps at home once with red and yellow peppers on rice and it was super easy, turned out great, I paid for extra shrimps and there were only about 10 small-medium sized shrimps, $25 for that and no drink, I just ate the shrimps and tossed the rest it was just noodles with some bits of lettuce and carrots left in it, usually I eat everything, I don't know maybe they never forgave me because a friend and I ate here years ago and we left a huge plate of noodles on the table, Mee Shua my usual order but they made it really dark my friend insisted on ordering fresh rolls and we ate them, so what is this the battle of light and dark? and a very generous helping, I didn't want to eat it at the the time because I was scared to eat so much, so sorry about that, maybe they don't think I need to eat things like shrimps but I had a dream that was all they served in the buffet the plane stopped on the way to China, it was very high up in the clouds and we had to jump to get back on the plane, they had nothing special just lots of cold cocktail shrimps like served with marinara which I thought was strange and disappointing they had no other meat but I interpreted this to mean it was shrimps all the way to China, I haven't been having very good dreams lately so I need to eat shrimps, I don't know I just thought this is what I get back in Thailand haha.
Terrible food and customer service. Myself and my pregnant roommate ordered from this establishment and specified the beef needed to be cooked all the way through. They sent us raw beef and undercooked shrimp with our vermicelli. When I called to speak to someone at the restaurant, both the worker and manager told me I could just cook it myself. Not sure why I would order delivery if I wanted to cook my own food. Awful experience.
I’ve been ordering here for a while because I absolutely love Pad Tai!! But the last year has been off. Every time I order it, there’s less and less protein and vegetables in it. Tonight I had one shrimp, no tofu and maybe two small pieces of chicken with two vegetables in it, and to top it off it was so spicy that I had to throw it out. I’m really upset because I’ve been ordering here for years, but unfortunately, I’m going to have to part ways. Not enough consistency.
DO NOT ORDER THE SOUP TO GO FROM HERE!!! They put everything in it ... the meat and the noodles !!! Was left with soggy noodles and way way overdone meat ... AND it spilled all over my other food .... when I called they were completely oblivious to the issues. Please if you have a craving and want soup to be delivered find a different spot or you will be heavy disappointed!
Great place for quiet meals, great food and company! Seating is limited, so call ahead to book. That is also good, for few bistros offer this service. Owners are friendly and will explain menu so you can fully enjoy. Try their Bubble Teas and authentic Vietnamese Coffee.
It's a local neighborhood Thai Vietnamese restaurant beside the Starbucks. The food is delicious and good portion size. A decent mix between Thai and Vietnamese. When I was there mostly people coming in for pickup orders.
Family owned restaurant with the consistency of a chain. Wonderful owners and even better food. I've never had a bad experience here and everything seems super fresh. It's not the best I've ever had but in Calgary it certainly is my go to. It's a relatively small location but from the moment you walk in the restaurant you can smell the fresh produce they use in the cold box displays. It's also nice they have a convenient online ordering system for pick ups that most places seem to not have. It's definitely worth a try if you're in South Calgary.
