Victoria General Hospital

Had a procedure scheduled for this past week at 1:15 P.M and was advised to report to admitting one hour ahead (which I did). Eventually was taken into procedure room at 2:30 P.M. The wait time really wasn't the issue, what is important is how the nurses take your personal information. Instead of being assigned an independent examining room, patients are now lined up, side by side, in large armchairs - literally elbow to elbow. The nurse then comes and sits right in front of you (and literally all the others in chairs, waiting for their procedures) and starts asking all the information which is required in order to complete the admittance forms. There is ABSOLUTELY no confidentiality during this time. Where even at a drugstore, when you are dropping off a prescription, you are asked to be respectful of others privacy and stand well back, in order not to infringe on their space - would you not think this would be even more important when having a medical procedure done? If this is the direction our new health care system is taking, I, for one, am not impressed. On a positive note, my nurse, Trina, was absolutely amazing!

I wish I could give a rate less than 1. Here is a terrible place with extreme long waiting time. We waited for 8 hours for a doctor visit! All 8 hours the red light for emergency was on but who cares in Victoria Hospital. No responsive staff, no manager to talk with, no seat for accompany people. Better to wait until morning and go to a walking clinic instead of this hospital if you have a pain at night. The only thing that work good here is the air condotioner!

Great place, awesome staff, lots of caring, wonderful atmosphere. Keep up the great service and friendly interaction with us at a low time in our lives. Thanks again

Very poor check up at emergency. They don't have specialists and they don't really care about you. Better to go to the walking clinic !

I'm glad they changed their "emergency" status to "urgent care". My experiences with the old "emergency" were not good. I found them to be very disorganized in terms of one floor to the next. Kind of like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.
