The Vancouver Aquatic Centre is home to the Canadian Dolphin Swim Club. I felt a part of the team cheering them on from the stands, and seeing really fast and dedicated swimmers. The facility itself needs to be overhauled, as it is dated. The gym is a little small with functioning but dated equipment. The hot tub is too small and shallow, as well as the sauna having two electric sauna stoves not being hot enough. You will probably need to check the schedule on what is open if you want to swim. The day I went there was a tiny portion of the pool available and it was mainly for length swimming.
Worst gym ever. Rude staff. It’s absurd to charge people a lot of money for small gym and STILL have two trademill broken and for weeks and not fixing it.
Facilities had hosted local, provincial, national and international events for either swimming or water polo. The facility was closed for falling debris from the cement structures. They have reopened the facility whereby netting has been installed to catch any debris that may dislodge. I will say prayers for this facility as many swim or water polo clubs or locals call this facility their home pool. This 50 m pool serves the community!nn2025-12-28 Outside the facility there was a sighting of a rare taiga flycatcher bird. It was quite small. You need really good eyesight. It is smaller than a Robin but larger that a sparrow.
This is a perfect facility! I’ve been taking swimming classes here for several months now, and you can really improve your technique. All the instructors are great, but I especially want to thank Jessie, she’s a pro! She finally helped me fix my breathing in front crawl. I highly recommend this institute, and absolutely Jessie!
Great Facility in the west end. The staff are amazing, and i don't think they get enough recognition for the work they do.The 5 stars go to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so wonderful.nnThe aquatic centre needs to have balance of how many lanes they offer for public and for all the teams that swim there. Seems like a logistics issue.nChange rooms are clean. The facility is great but lately there seems to be a lot of theft and breaking of lockers.nI wish they would have some system of security to make sure people and their belongings are safe and protected.nnIndividuals who think they can get high and come for a swim, well they should proceed with caution and i have seen this happen and the staff handled this really well. Actually Kudos to the staff who handled the situation with grace, empathy and professionalism. The facility is amazing! thank you to all the amazing staff that make going to the aquatic centre so amazing !nYou are noticed and hope you will be acknowledged and recognized.
