I recently attended the Twins concert at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, and the experience was fantastic! The venue’s layout is excellent, providing great views from every seat, and the seating itself was comfortable, ensuring a pleasant experience throughout the event.nnThe staff were professional, friendly, and well-prepared, handling the crowd efficiently and ensuring everything ran smoothly. The event was exceptionally well-organized, from ticketing to crowd control, making the evening stress-free and enjoyable.nnThe management did an outstanding job hosting such a large-scale event, and the energy in the venue was incredible. I highly recommend this venue for concerts and events—truly top-notch!
The field provides a good venue for university-level sports and offers decent facilities for spectators. Its location on the UBC campus makes it convenient for students and local sports fans. The natural grass surface is particularly well-suited for rugby matches, offering a traditional playing experience for this sport. There are probably 200 seats and a snack center that sells alcoholic beverages.
Good stadium and good views. The drinks are pricey but not much compared to other concert venues. 355mL for $8.49 and 710mL for $16.99 19.15 after tax. Better than other concert venues but of course still pricey. From section 113 and row 2 it was a good view of the artist.
Honestly I wanted to make this one star but my night ended up turning around and I enjoyed the show thanks to a lovely employee.nnFirstly, blackbird think they’re police officers. You are NOT. They’re overzealous, overbearing and annoying. I understand security is needed but I watched one guy get surrounded by 9 security for whatever reason. He did not look aggressive and was much smaller than all of the security.nnSecondly, if you’re plus sized or tall, don’t buy tickets for an event here. Just don’t do that to yourself. You will be extremely uncomfortable and the medal seat arms do not lift up. I called twice both when I bought my tickets and the day before with accessibility concerns and was reassured both times that there wouldn’t be any issues but today I have bruising from the seats.nnLastly, I had to wait a long time along side a person in a wheel chair for elevator access. The paramedics on standby had to go find someone to let us in and even then we had to walk around a maze to get to an elevator that works.nnIt’s sad to see in 2024 we still can’t get accessibility right and organized. It’s really not that complicated but yet those with accessibility needs are put last. I wanted to see another artist performing here but will not be back.
Excellent, smaller arena. Great for seeing sporting events or concerts.
