Experienced awful service today. One of the textbooks had an issue with not coming with a connect code when you purchased the physical copy. Which is fine, these things happen. However, upon going into the bookstore help desk I was greeted by a blonde woman with glasses didn’t have name tag today, with a very aggressive attitude. I told her I lost my receipt, but told her I have a bank statement showing the date I purchased the textbook. But she was very rude and said you should get a receipt automatically and that they need the receipt. But a bank statement should be sufficient enough as proof of purchase in the event you lose a receipt. As students life is already stressful enough, let alone getting treated poorly by staff from the university. Thankful that the other lady was able to locate my transaction and get me what I required to succeed in my class.
Amazing service! I ordered two hoodies from here and their customer service was amazing! I called to see where my order was as I am impatient when it comes to online orders, but who isn’t lol, and one of the employees helped me to find it, and when he got an email a couple minutes later saying that my packages were delivered, he made sure to call me back and thank me for ordering!
Their bag policy is insane. They are not responsible for your bag/laptop being stolen but also force you to leave it at the front. If theft is such a big issue, then get sensors for your merch/books. Even the college bookstore doesn't do this...
Went to pick up my book and was told I was there at the wrong time. Still wouldn’t give me my book. Due to Covid. Am I not already there? So rather than giving me my book since I’m already there, they decide to make me come back a second time? Does that not increase the risk of Covid transmission, to have to go twice? I will be ordering my books from Amazon from now on. Edit: when I went to pick up my book during my next appointment time 8:00am which I had an appointment confirmation email to prove, I was informed that they don’t open until 9:00am, which is when I was to start work that day. Thoroughly not impressed.
An necessity for University student, while they do provide the books and services required for students, and managed to maintain a pleasant enough atmosphere. there are times where getting service takes a while and the staff may be not as pleasant as normal because of the high load
GO BEFORE THE SEMESTER STARTS TO GET YOUR BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!! This way you are less likely to spend an hour waiting in line. You also will have a more pleasant experience with the staff. During the main rush, the staff can definitely be a little off, and at time they can seem a little impatient. They are generally very helpful though. They have lots of U of L swag that you can buy and every year they have new designs. Be careful to make sure your books are in good order when you buy them. I bought a textbook once and returned it the next day this was because my book list was wrong and there was a slight problem with the spine of the book. It took the lady 10 minutes to get it so I was "okayed" for a refund. I felt like a criminal as they kept eyeing me and looking through the book. I had the receipt and all. The one problem that occurs here is that with every transaction that occurs with a student card, a person with some sort of authority has to look at it. From my experience, out of all the tills running, typically only one person is able to okay it. They should make all the cashiers able to do this process. If they did, they's be able to cut out minutes from the wait time during rush.
Overpriced regardless of convenience. They put a second-hand bookstore out of business through questionable means a few years ago. Corrupt, just like the rest of the management at U of L.
Great service! Very helpful staff. Would like to see more refills of pens sold there.
The basic texts seem to be there, but that's it. The U of Toronto and Calgary bookstores are orders of magnitude above. The local Chapters / Indigo offers more.
Waiting line too long. Would be good if they had more cashiers.
