Finding books at Big John's is always a good experience. He can guide you toward what you're looking for quickly and efficiently or you can meander and find yourself a treasure. I've done both and am appreciative for the experience.
Very well organized, great selection, and the staff was very personable and lovely. Prices are about mid range for used books.

Lots of reasonably priced manga and graphic novels. This book store, like Echoes is pretty disorganized so plan to spend some time if you're looking for something specific, but an excellent time.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book store and it was our first visit. Lots to choose from and organized to find what you're looking for fairly easily. As I am not from Lethbridge I can tell you about flow and book turnover but from the conversation I had with the friendly employee it seems that isn't an issue. Seems like books turnover quickly and they have lots of stock. Located in the heart of the shopping downtown I thought it was a great location for them and parking was free because of the weekend day we were there. Would return for sure next visit.
Cool place, LOTS of books! Well organized, lots of choice, and decent pricing.
The store is spotless and well organized. The pricing is reasonable and what I expected. However, while I respect AND understand the owner is trying to ensure cash flow and survival by limiting what books can be purchased with store credit, I felt frustrated and that basically I was forced to pick from definite 2nd rate authors. I also felt the selection of my preferred genre was quite small and missing a lot of very important authors, again making selections limited and more like work then one of my favorite shopping trips. Might drop in on occasion but not my preferred bookstore. :/
This is a great place. Great selection of used books. The staff member was very knowledgeable and helpful. I found a trilogy I've been looking for for over 20 years.
I've come twice. The first time, I bought 3 books, 1 of which John helped me find after I asked him about 2 specific authors. Very knowledgeable about what he has in his store & very kind & personable. We chatted for a short period & he never droned on. Second time, he greeted my sister & I as we walked in & I spent an hour looking around I was not badgered once or asked multiple times if I needed help. I was asked once and told if I need any help to let him know. He completely let me take my time, coming up with 3 books. When I was finished, he gave me a dollar off & the whole experience is always pleasant.
