tldr; - food was not good as missing many ingredients and undercooked noodles. not authentic like most other phở restaurants in the region. - service was okay but could be improved - overall was not convinced enough to return --- We were excited to come to this location to experience the phở for breakfast for the first time in this region. I was a bit hesitant due to the reviews of the phở being less authentic than the typical restaurants in the area, but we noticed they had advertised a 4am-10am special for the dine-in with the classic beef pho and we decided to give it a try. We arrived at 7am and were likely the first customers of the morning. When we arrived inside, we noticed a very dark interior and a busy kitchen. We asked for a table for two and the classic pho special, and were asked to be seated outside on the patio. After being seated, our server came out and asked us again for our orders. We mentioned the classic beef pho special and she returned inside with our order. When she returned with the bowls of pho, she mentioned they did not have rare beef and added more brisket. It would be nice if they mentioned this before bringing our the order as this is one of the main ingredients of the dish, but we didn't want to bother and accepted it as it was already at our table. The server also asked if we wanted basil and sprouts with our dish and we said yes. After a few minutes, only sprouts and a single thin lime slice was brought out on a small dish. We asked if there was any basil and if we could have an addition lime wedge as there were two orders. She did not apologize for forgetting the basil, but eventually brought it out along with some mint, but it was not very fresh. We would have appreciated if the restaurant was just more honest if they didn't have anything to mention it to customers, especially for their special dish. We tried the dish and the broth tasted lighter than most other phở but it was okay. However, the noodles were very undercooked, something I've never had at a phở restaurant, and I did not feel great after eating them. Later in the meal, we somehow received waters despite saying we did not need any drinks for our mel. Our server also mentioned to us that if we felt full and needed some takeout bowls for our dish, we could let her know before she returned inside. We ate our meal but I had trouble finishing mine due to the undercooked noodles. Our server did not come out to check in on us, the only customers afterwards and we had to go inside to pay and ask for a bowl for the leftovers. After paying, out take out bowls were forgotten and we had to go inside again to receive them. Overall, our server was alright even though she kept forgetting requests or answers to questions she had asked. But the food was just not even close to other phở standards in the KW area. I'm not sure whether it was just disorganization inside the restaurant, or the way it was managed, but there clearly needs to be improvement. Could it be that we arrived at breakfast as opposed to lunch or dinner? If a place is advertising 24/7 service but missing main ingredients and unable to execute their main dish properly, there isn't much incentive to return.
Ordered beef pho, spicy Tantan ramen, veggie spring rolls, and tea. Pho is probably the worst in kw, which feels wrong since pho is in the name. It's still edible if you're hungry, but definitely not authentic. The Spicy Tantan Ramen was inedible though, the noodles tasted like flour and water, formed into noodle shape, and tossed raw into the soup base before served. The carrots, greens, and sprouts were all crunchy as if raw when tossed in the soup base right before serving. I'm not sure if this was a mistake, or just a bad dish. Mushrooms were slightly cooked, but definitely on the "rare" side. The veggie spring rolls were ok. They were out of green tea...? The tea they did have tasted fine. Their menu is chaotic and has no focus. I suggest they try to find their niche. Nothing wrong with a smaller menu. Wait staff Jules was friendly, and made us feel welcome. Since we didn't eat the spicy Tantan, they took it off the bill, so that's nice. Ambiance is nice, and the location is good.
The convenience of this place is fantastic. I have been needing a late night Asian food place and am very happy this exists. I've gone a couple times, food has been cheap and good. While some of the servers are new and a little slow I'm sure that will clear up with time. All in all I've had good experiences here and recommend you drop in for a bite
Great quality noodles! Decent size portions. Variety of choices. The only cafe around Waterloo square, where you can dine in 24 hours. However, I recommend visiting in the daytime, or at least in the evening.
Ate the cheese wontons and classic beef pho. Wontons were perfectly light and crispy with not too much cheese. The Classic Beef pho is classic and hits the spot! Beef was tender, delicious, and not too thin. Noodles were fresh. I'm glad they're open 24 hours cause I could eat this all day!
First time trying this place and I was blown away, the calamari was amazing, probably the best I've had. The pho was very flavourful and well packed for takeout. We tried the stir fry in peanut sauce it was also very good. I'll definitely be back!!
Really friendly customer service. From the folks that create Meltwich, they have now opened an amazing Asian venture. The ramen is not traditional but it tasted as good as the real one. The Spicy Tantan ramen is so creamy and flavourful. The pho is amazing too. They have amazing bao sandwiches. Really enjoyed the food. One comment - if you guys could cut the Chinese broccoli and King mushroom to smaller pieces, that would be great.
Dining Experience: -Server will ask you if you want bean sprout, sriracha, hoisin sauce. No lime. Basil already in the pho bowl. I can understand why they ask and not bring you a plate with all the garnishes to prevent waste. -3 mini dip bowl is needed if someone ask for Hoisin & Sriracha. The 3rd is used to mix both the sauces -They could offer tea for refreshments like other pho places Classic Beef Pho: -Appreciate the broth is actually flavourful and you can distinguish the different ingredients in the broth -The Medium size bowl is more than enough if you get an appetizer as well -Meat portion wasn't too bad Beef Short Rib Bao: -Fresh Bao bun was amazing -Garlic aioli complimented the shorts ribs well -Meat was nice and tender -Quality comparable to Bao Sandwich Bar Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend this place to a friend/stranger. I think this is the best Pho place in KW. Absolute amazing place to go after a night out drinking and cure for a hangover
GREAT VEGAN FOOD, FRIENDLY FOR VEGANS!!! This place deserves the 5 stars! I wish I could give it more! Not only was the staff incredibly kind and understanding, they made me laugh and made me feel welcome into the store for my pick up! They were all bright and happy and genuinely seemed to be enjoying their job there! COVID rules were followed amazingly and I felt SAFE being there in the store! I never got the name of the gentleman who took my order and spoke to me, he even told me that I looked like a Madison. He was so incredibly kind and helped me with my order as it was my first time. He gave a great suggestion and I'm so happy I went with it! I ordered the Regular Pho Soup with Vegan broth, bok choy, shrimp as I'm not a extremely stern vegan when it comes to seafood, crispy tofu, white onions and chili pepper! I also chose the Udon noodles with it as well. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! The flavour of broth, the way the noodles were made, everything was incredible! The noodles, protein of choice and veggies all come in their own container so the veggies are still crunchy and the broth comes on the side. There was even left over broth! I sliced the chili down the centre and mixed it with the soup and man, it gave it some kick, just the way I like it! As a side, I ordered the Vegan Cream Cheese Wontons with their sweet chili thai sauce and oh boy there was a party in my mouth. It wasn't creamy like cream cheese is but don't let that fool you! It's tastes like the real deal and the texture was superb! I paid $17 for the whole meal and I was SOOO not disappointed! Great pricing for what you get!!! Crunchy, warm and to die for! I will be here again for sure, and telling everyone about this place! Bravo Twenty Pho Seven!
I was pleasantly surprised! Perhaps the best calamari I've ever had, and the wait staff were very friendly. Nice patio on the side of the street to people watch as you eat.
