Basing it on the drinks and soft serve ice cream - you are paying more but also for premium. The premium aspect is the taste and quality of the ice cream and tea latte. It's not a mild taste but a strong taste. There are no meals served here - just drinks and desserts parfait, cakes, mochi. The service is good and made to order. Highly recommend the twist of hojicha and matcha soft serve $6. The drinks range from $4ish simple teas to $7ish latte. A good amount of seating in here and haven't experienced it being super busy the times I've gone.
Such an interesting cafe! We go to Tsujiri every time I crave for matcha and they never disappoint! I always get soft serve or parfait, the matcha flavor is so authentic, I like it a lot. In my most recent visit, I got Hojicha soft serve and I loved it! It was not too strong, it was still milky but with roasted tea flavor. I also got matcha latte, I wish they asked about sweetness because I did know know it comes sweetened, I’d ordered 0% sugar. They are always packed on the weekend but service is very quick.
The quality of the teas here can't be beat. Yes, everything is a tad pricier, but for the quality and preparation you receive, it is totally worth it. The hot tea selection is very comforting. The black sesame tea latte is incredibly earthy and nutty and does not shy away from that richness you'd expect with sesame. I've also gotten a handful of their cold desserts, and they are all divine. It's important to note that nothing is here particularly "sweet". Matcha lends a certain bitterness to whatever it's placed in, so the sweetness of all items is very toned down and natural.
If you love matcha and good vibes, this is the place to go. The matcha is of high quality, and there are so many different ways it’s used here. From ice cream to lattes, there are many different desserts to chose from. They also have a variety of desserts not on the main menu like cakes and mochi that we didn’t get a chance to try. The interior was very nice, the person working would clean every table after each customer. Overall a very fun place to come stop in, or stay a while and hang out. I hope I can go again soon!
I've visited Tsujiri more times than i can count and filled out at least 3 stamp cards since they opened in Calgary. I'm a huge matcha lover and absolutely love trying Asian desserts so I've tasted almost everything on the Tsujiri menu. I love that their drinks, parfaits, and desserts have a nice balance of sweet and bitter matcha naturally having bitter undertones. My favourites are their kinako kuromitsu latte a flavour you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere in Calgary and their mousse cakes. If you want something refreshing then their yuzu ice blend hits the spot as well as any Lemonade would!
If you like Matcha, hojicha or any other Japanese tea flavoured dessert or drinks, this is the place to go. It's a bit pricey but worth it. The interior is designed beautifully and very modern looking, so it's a great place to hang out. Biggest negative is parking in the area.
We orderd 7 items for 4 people. 1st, the Tsuriji parfait doesn’t worth $8+ for its portion, 2nd the O-Matcha cappuccino can only tasted milk but no matcha flavour and in a very small portion. 3rd the O-Matcha float was ok. 4th, the Houjicha roll cake was too greasy and heavy can’t really taste any tea flavour. 5th Tsujiri Shaved ice was ok but there was too much syrup at the bottom. Totally over price and the service wasn’t great. And the washroom was really really need to follow up :
I love Tsujiri, and at this point I've filled out at least 3 different stamp cards and tried almost everything on the menu. My favourite is the kinako kuromitsu matcha latte. It'd been a while since I had it because after becoming lactose intolerant it's been harder to enjoy lattes and they often don't taste right made with milk substitutes. BUT! The latte made with soy milk actually tasted great. Soy milk and kinako go really well together to add a nutty tone that complements the matcha. You get to taste a good balance of flavours. This is all to say I still love going to Tsujiri and I still love all things matcha.
Had the Daifuku mochi was not disappointed, amazing quality Loved the feel of the mugs they use here. Its a small place but if you like matcha it's definitely worth trying.
Great place to come alone to read and relax. Vibe is welcoming and interior is tasteful. Of course, the tea selection is good too. Hard to find a quiet place to sit around this area right next to the highway and plus one that is open late in the evening, but this place fit my needs perfectly. Would definitely return when I need some quiet time to journal and think.
