A really good store. The vibe here is very different from larger competitor stores. It feels more like a family shop serving neighbours. Customer service at this location is simply fantastic. I went to the store with a problem and the guy helping me explained what exactly needed to be done. Although the store did not carry the exact item I needed, they explained where I could purchase it. They also cut keys at this location.
Mike and Marc I always mix up their names, yet somehow they remember mine! are two of the kindest, most helpful and knowledgeable professionals I've encountered in any store that I can recall - and that isn't an exaggeration. I was recently preparing to install a toilet paper holder I'd purchased years ago, and realized I'd misplaced a piece. Intuitive and generous: Into the store I went. - "I'm trying to install this, but I've lost "the metal piece thingy" that sorta..." - "Oh yeah, the mounting plate..." he replied, before moving to the clearance bin and finding a similarly sized toilet paper holder that in his estimations would contain the correct piece for my unit. - "Five bucks..." he said which happened to be less than half of the already reduced "clearance" price. "...and if it doesn't fit, just bring it back and we'll order you the correct one, but I think it'll fit." And it fit perfectly; perhaps not surprisingly. I've lived in Morgan's Grant for over 10 years, and these guys are a legitimate gift to the community. Thank you. And on a random side note: If you guys were ever to chase a second career, I think you both -Mike with that BOOMING voice- would make great additions to just about any reality TV show... anything along the lines of Storage Wars or Pawn Stars etc. Thank you again.
Our go to place for bird feeders , bird seeds and all things bird related. Friendly knowledgable staff. Will drive out of my way to go here.i was first introduced to the squirrel buster line of products here and have since bought all our squirrel busters here 7 different varieties. They have a vast array of seed and feed and suet as well including mill creek seed garden friendly, marks home hardware suet plugs and Armstrong whole and peanut pieces all of which are top rated bird products imo. Besides bird supplies they do carry a lot of items that you would only find in home hardware. My go to place for bird and bird supplies. I post bird pictures on this site as a tribute to this store without these products I’m sure I would not see the vast array of birds that I do in our backyard.
Trudel Home Hardware store is very conveniently located store. It has all the bits and pieces that someone would require to finish any construction job. As a matter of fact, I found them carrying certain items that are not available on big hardware stores. My second reason for going to this store is to promote local businesses and keep relatively smaller stores in business. Third and most important reason is their staff. They are very friendly and the store always have someone who is very knowledgeable and they can give their advice. All in all, I am never disappointed after going to this store.
I would love to shop at this small, local Home Hardware, but the fact is that 9 out of 10 times I go in here, they don't have what I want in stock. And I'm not looking for obscure items, but rather common things a ratchet or a hand saw, for example. They only seem to stock one of each item, and the excuse is that "someone just came in and bought it" but "I can get you one next week". Next week doesn't cut it. I can't delay a job by a week when I can go to Home Depot and they WILL have the item.
First off I'd give them zero stars if I could. Mainly because at the beginning of the pandemic I caught them trying to sell Rapid Covid Tests at $80/box when government announced that it was not permitted! This was the same green box test that was distributed to all the schools for free. Secondly. They have a partnership with Purolator and UPS which is convenient for drop offs.. the only issue is that they refuse to process the package and give you a tracking number!! I just returned a $200 piece of defective hardware and the company just informed me that they still have not received it and requested the tracking number!! I may be stuck having to pay out of my pocket because they're too busy yapping about their weekends to actually do their jobs! Finally, The store is a tiny, disorganized mess! I'm not sure how they can still be in business. They never seem to have what I need from the HH flyer. I've given up and just go straight to Home Depot or Lowes now.
I live in the neighbourhood so I've stopped by Trudel Home Hardware 4 or 5 times in the past couple years to pick up various things. I've never really went to 'shop around' and have had a purpose each time. 1 of these times I was able to find what I was looking for. Their selection seems all over the place - it's a broad range jammed into a small space. That's not a problem per-say, and maybe I've just had bad luck finding what I'm after, but as this point I just drive past to go to Stittsville Home Hardware. It's a good drive but I've had super good experiences there and just assume that Trudel doesn't have what I'm looking for. It also doesn't help that at least half the times I've went I was looking for a specific product and either couldn't find a staff member to help or was given pretty useless guidance "Yeah, I think they're over there", followed by a blank stare - not overly helpful. Not that I care too much about check-out service either but the one time I found what I was looking for the cashier could not have been more apathetic.. Maybe say "hi" back or don't stare at the ceiling tiles the whole transaction. I'm down with supporting local small businesses but.. yeah.. I've kinda given up on this one myself. Maybe this is a bit of a harsh review for a hardware store but my last venture there a week ago really made me wonder "why do I ever bother trying here?".
Always someone there to help you with your question. Of course not the size of Home Depot but almost everything I need I found there.
Mike is the reason for that store being so busy. His wisdom and knowledge is great
The lady on the phone was quite rude and hung up on me. Not sure if their phone had an issue but didn't leave the best impression.
