Tropical Delight Eatery

This was an awesome Caribbean style eatery discovery that did not disappoint. The service was everything. So friendly, kind and helpful.The staff took her time to show us what was available and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the oxtail and jerk pork plate with cabbage and callaloo sides. We enjoyed everything we ordered including the homemade refresher drinks made of Sorrel and Mint that was *chefs kiss*.The portion sizes were generous and we enjoyed the atmosphere to sit outside and enjoy our meal. As if that was not all we took a slice of Ginger/Carrot cake to go and it was one of the tastiest slices I have had. Highly recommend and will return to try more options. Ajax has been blessed with this establishment. I had the beef Patty with a coco bun. Out of this world!! The beef Patties are hand made in house. The filling seasoned to perfection. I also got the Jerk chicken with peas and rice and there veg. The jerk chicken is tender, moist and packed with flavor and that's me under selling it. If I really told you how I felt about the jerk chicken I'd be banned from Google for using inappropriate language. It's just too good. The veg that came with it was amazing, cooked in coconut milk from what I understand. It pairs well with the chicken and get themhot sauce on the side. you need a little heat, trust me.

100 stars if I could We’ve been going to Tropical Delight for over a year now. The food is always great and the people are always super friendly and kind. Today though, the ox tail was exceptional! I don’t know if it’s because we had it right out of the oven or what but it is the best we’ve had. Plus the new ice creams and drinks are great too. Added bonus: They’re nut free. My better half has a severe nut allergy and knowing we can get great food without having to worry for her safety is an added bonus.

Just dropped in to pick up some warm spicy food for lunch and oh man! No disappointments here! The jerk pork is so so good! Perfect spiciness. Great with the curried potatoes and the cabbage! I'm coming back! Thank you!

It was my first time trying this place and the food was A M A Z I N G! We ordered the jerk chicken and the BBQ jerk chicken dinners and they were both great. The price is decent and the portions are big enough to turn the meal into two meals. I'll definitely be going back for more and to try some of their other dishes. Also, the staff were extremely friendly and good spirited. Dietary restrictions: This place is 100% nut free.

I don't know what was better: the food, the service, or the atmosphere of the place. My girlfriend and I went for dinner and walked away as happy as we could be. The jerk chicken was very juicy, and paired with a magnificent rice+beans and chickpea-potato curry. Carmen and her son made us feel like home, and turned a regular Saturday night meal into a lovely experience. We can't wait to go back!

Never tired it before but oxtail rice and peas with the cabbage!! Amazing, I value great customer service and Zac provides an excellent experience which goes above and beyond. Food is amazing and while you there! Please buy their pepper sauce!! It’s the kudos to Zac

This is my go-to spot in Durham. Our favorites include the curry chicken, curry potatoes, jerk chicken and bbq jerk chicken. Reminds me of comfort home cooking Not only is the food tasty, prices reasonable and has amazing customer service, but this family owned and run business gives back to their local community. An absolute gem off a spot. This restaurant is also dine-in friendly; very spacious with an elegant/casual feel. You won't be disappointed!

Truly an amazing place. This was one of the best experiences in a restaurant that I have had in Canada in terms of customer service. All the staff were very pleasant and were happy to answer questions. The food was delicious and the ambience was great. The jerk pork was to die for. I nominate this place as one of the hidden gems in Ajax.
