My first time here. Here's my take. Location: not the greatest, hidden with no street sign so you can't find it unless you use Google maps. Food:I got the "curry goat with rice and peas". just the right amount of spice, gravy and portion. BRAVO Customer Service: Yikes!! Why is it that every Caribbean restaurant or Caribbean server acts like they don't want you there. Seriously, take a course in Customer service. Your businesses would boom. Please cut the attitude. It looks bad on our race. I know I probably shouldn't be saying this because not all black-run businesses operate like that. But someone has got to say it. On a positive note. I do suggest checking the place out because the food is bomb.

First of all, why is this place not in an area where it visible to people. I initially went in for their soup as I tried it it the day before for the first time. I got there and soup is done. Requested for different type of soup. Got the same answer soup is done. So I ended up ordering asking for jerk chicken and rice but It ended being oxtail and beans. No lie, the oxtail taste good. The rice and beans was in the dryer side which is fine but the customer service needs to be worked on. $20 dollar for small size. Will not be returning here as I was dissatisfied and couldn’t finish the food.

If you're in the East end of the city/Durham region? Look no further for fresh, well seasoned and NO attitude customer service....Well, let me tell you about Beryls. It's located in what appears as an industrial area, but it's very clean inside/modern. No area to sit in and eat was observed, but a stand up counter area was available....BUT, with all the goodness you won't need to sit.....You'll be dancing as you enjoy their many Jamaican options. I ordered the oxtail and they definetly didn't skimp me...Meaty pieces and well tasty and creamy coleslaw. It definetly had me dancing as I ate in happiness.

This was my first time coming to this spot, they have good flavor and seemed fresh. The rice could use some help, needs some more flavor, but we come for the chicken. We ordered jerk chicken and for Ajax it was ok. We have to ask before ordering to put oxtail gravy or else you will miss it. There is extra charge for oxtail heavy and could not tell the difference. It was a good experience. Prices are reasonable and they will fill you up.

I used to come here very regularly but the quality of food oxtail had declined, so I started going to Scarborough for my Caribbean cuisine fixes. I was placing an large order today for my mom for her coworkers and was sent to beryl’s. I used to come here just for the food the servers are usually short and not friendly - the typical Caribbean shop stereotype service but I haven’t even received the food yet, and I will be back for the service I got today. The cashier/server Shania took my order with such care and patience, so I wanted to take the time to shout her out! She did her big one with her service answering my questions and waiting for me to get all the order details together and to process my delayed payment. Stellar service - thank you for making my day Shania! She’s a keeper Ms. Beryl! Happy holidays Shania!

I definitely prefer the original Ajax location to the Pickering. Something about the service and the food are different. Ajax location the employees are warm and friendly. I think that's why the food taste better. Lol Both locations deliver fantastic food . I simply prefer the cozyness of Ajax.Food: 5/5

I just ask for a chicken order and the food bring a insect. Make sure you not buy food in here. That is so nasty

Their service is extremely frustrating, anytime I ask to order food in advance they say no, only for me to arrive within 5 minutes and have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for the food. I only get the jerk pork for my partner otherwise I would NOT ever patronize this establishment.

Food is amazing but the customer service sucks. Front staff need to be trained on proper customer service. Rude and indifferent !! I used to be a loyal customer but I'll definitely take my business elsewhere.

It's my first time here. Went with the fried chicken with slaw, rice and spicy gravy. The chicken was amazing. Nice and crunchy, and the chicken was so moist. The slaw was good and the rice and gravy too. I love the gravy. It was spicy but not burn your mouth spicy, it had the perfect amount of heat and allowed me to taste the full flavor of the crazy. Definitely coming back.
