On a very short first time trip to Vernon for my Dad's memorial, we stopped in on a whim for coffee. An unexpected pleasant surprise... the frontage is simple and welcoming, the interior was clean and spacious but still provided a feeling of sitting in the comfort of home. Coffee is always better made by someone else and we were thoroughly impressed. Enough to attend Triumph 2 times in 12 hours with a personal promise of going back. The coffee was great, just strong enough... The pastry was fresh and not over sweetened, a great compliment to our brew. And lastly, the team/owners working there were very friendly and asked all the right questions to help us achieve top notch customized coffee. Again and again and again... We promise. Thank you! Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the Cafe while we were there, an enclosed rom. With glass walls sits toward the back of the shop as a quiet multi purpose place for families or small group events... I believe there were free use books there, resembling a little library. And enough room Iin the main area for kids to not feeling enclosed or restricted. Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious placing of seating with an accessible frontage allows for wheelchair pull through the door and up to tables with ease and without creating obstruction.
First time there today. We ordered coffee and cake. The cashier forgot the cake and we had to go ask for it. The coffee was okay, the cakes very bland. Just a few minutes after we sat down a woman came over to say “we actually closed 5 minutes ago”. Well why didn’t you tell us this when we walked in? We felt very unwelcome and embarrassed. Had to wolf down the cake and leave with coffee in our hands. Wish we wouldn’t have left you a tip.
I used to really love Triumph for lunch and lattes but since they stopped making food in house and had a staff change the new staff are much friendlier on the plus side I have stopped coming. The drinks are hit and miss depending on the barista. The pre-prepared food is not very good and overpriced for what you get. Plus they have hardly any gluten free options anymore. If they brought back the felafel lunch bowls I would probably come back but I don’t think they are planning to serve in house food again.
Nice little Cafe, chill atmosphere and good coffee. But the bacon in my breakfast wrap was not undercooked and super chewy.Food: 2/5
Had a great experience when I tried to order a gingersnap steamer and they were out of gingersnap syrup...the barista whipped me up her own version of it and it tasted even better than the original! Thanks for going above and beyond!
It used to be a great spot, drinks are still decent, baked goods not so much. I know they had staffing issues for a while, but even with the new staff it takes forever to get a drink and sometimes it's made wrong. Essentially it depends who you get making the service inconsistent. If you want a bite to eat, just go to The Fig next door.Food: 3/5
When I first Moved back to Vernon a year ago after being away a couple of decades, I was In search of a place to feel “at home” and enjoy a latte and some healthy fare. I quickly discovered Triumph and was overwhelmed by the fact that food and the coffee were only surpassed by the warm hospitality of Merry and her team. I was very swiftly treated as a regular and felt at home at a time in our history that was unprecedented. masks and socialize distancing I found myself looking forward to the small interactions with the staff as much, if not more, than I did to my morning latte! Merry will always be a part of my happy memories of returning to my home town! Over the last year there has been a few changes in protocols and in staff and management but Triumph is living up to it’s name and rises to every challenge and triumphs! Recently, Stephanie has taken the reins as manager and what a lovely personality to be the face of Triumph she is !! Nothing has suffered with any of the changes! The food remains amazing ! The coffee is outstanding! The staff is always smiling ! The atmosphere is always friendly! This speaks volumes to me as far as behind the scenes and I wholeheartedly endorse local businesses that have happy staff! I have And always WILL recommend this lovely cafe for its food, drinks, atmosphere and most of all its attitude. Because when it all boils down to the bottom of it, I like to support local and I LOVE to support NICE people . This place has it all !
Tried the bfast sando with chorizo and the wrap and both were excellent! Coffee is always great here, love that we can grab a bag of bows, pallet or multiply here. Kid friendly and just such a chill vibe here, love the music as well. 10/10
Great chai, best scone ever lemon, blueberry, thyme. Staff was lovely. Their "coughy filter" sign was the cherry on top.
I love how the quality of the coffee scene in Vernon has kept pace with larger metros like Vancouver and Calgary. Great coffee coupled with awesome customer service...and a hidden gem of a bakery! The take home brioche buns and sour dough bread are a family favourite.
