Travelodge Port Elgin Colonial

Port Elgin is a wonderful town to stay in and we were so pleased with this Hotel. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room we found to be very clean, and cozy, loved the updated bathroom. Both my husband and I slept great on the bed as well as so cozy with the pillows. They had 2 chairs, a desk and chair as well the large TV and stand. The hotel had a cafe in it where we were given 20% discount however we had to get on the road so could not take an opportunity to try it. The hotel is located in the middle of Port Elgin with so many stores and restaurants around them. Great stay!!

Although the location is great the hotel itself was not. The room was OK for what we needed but the toilet was not fastened to the floor and there was a humidifier outside that room that ran constantly and was noisy. The front desk person I dealt with on 3 different occasions over the weekend was not clear in the information given and when I wanted confirmation of the charge for the room was given incorrect information. Even after talking with the hotel afterwards they promised to look into the situation and give me a call back. The courtesy of that call back was never received.

A very professional and efficient front desk person checked me in seamlessly. Her name was Lyric and it all my world wide travels, she really was the exact person I would like to encounter after a long day of heavy clinical work.nMy room was clean and quiet, but Lyric is the reason I will return when working in Port Elgin.

Great value for the price. No complaints but it is a 3 star accommodation. Basic amenities outdated furniture and clean enough. Would recommend if you are on a budget.

What's the main reason you stay in a Hotel ? To sleep right ?nThe place is under construction. Power tools ,noissy enviroment and dust. All Canada day long weekend from 9 to 5 pm. They will not be renting rooms if under construction. Poor management decision.
