Travelodge Port Elgin Colonial

We needed a place to sleep 5 of us for a few days while in town. The motel had a large room with 3 queen beds. The room was super 1990s retro so I was a bit nervous. I was so pleased with how clean it was and how comfortable the beds were. There were enough towels, lots of Dove soap products and excellent water pressure. So I was pleasantly surprised by our experience.

We stayed 3 nights in the jacuzzi suite. The room was very clean and had been reno'd not long ago it seems. Service was great and there are many free streaming channels on the huge TV. Not noisy other than people in the hallways as per usual. Beds are very comfy. My only complaint is the AC is old, so a bit of a mildewy smell and a bit damp.

My stay at the travel lodge is something I will never forget. The rooms were absolutely horrible. They stunk very bad, and were dirty. The pictures definitely showed better. This is not the absolute worst hotel in the area but definitely not the best. I wasn’t too pleased with the hotel/motel. The breakfast was the best thing there. I recommend you grab breakfast before you check out.

Today I had a very strange experience with my booking through Booking.com where my reservation was booked for the previous day instead of the next day.nI called the hotel property and had a chance to speak with the Manager Harneet who was extra kind and very cooperative. He understood the matter and helped me resolved the issue.nI have never seen such a kind and honest management who think and help out of their way. Loads of best wishes for this hotel and I strongly recommend going there as my experience has taught me that a place with kind humans who are managing an organization is the only place to go.nThanks Travelodge for making this a beautiful experience for me and helping out in all steps.

The room was not clean upon check in. The bed was made but the trashcan was full of trash, the washroom had no toilet paper or towels, and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed.nnI went to the front desk and told them about our room, they apologized and sent someone to clean it and offered us free breakfast as compensation.nnWhile we were waiting we decided to check out the pool and hot tub. Our key card didn't even work on the door so someone else had to let us in. The first thing we saw was patches of hair and gunk floating in it. We turned around, went to the front desk, and told them we wanted our money back.nnThey did refund us but I have NEVER been so grossed out and would never book a room here again.
