Super 8 Port Elgin

I'm a fairly regular visitor to the Port Elgin area for work and I've had the opportunity to visit a few different places to stay. Super 8 stands out as having decent staff that is very responsive to any concerns although I haven't had many. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The morning breakfast is well stocked with healthy options and you are very close to walk over to a few restaurants and do shopping. One charming tradition is that they will put out a nice soup on cold days for travelers to warm themselves. Nice touch!

We have stayed at this hotel 4 times in the last few years. The first time was with our twins when they were toddlers so we got a suite. Everything was great until we turned down the bed and saw multiple hairs in the sheets. Notified the staff and they quickly changed the bed. Fast forward to last night again staying with our kids. Turn down one of the beds and again lots of hair stuck in the sheets. The first time I thought was a one time mistake but obviously some maids are not changing the sheets between guests. So gross! We again notified the staff and they switched our room for us and gave us 15 dollars off. Sadly, we won't be back after this.

I have been staying here once a week for work at Bruce Power for almost two months, and have many positive things to say. I believe I was given a much better rate underna corporate plan so an individual paying the full price may have a different opinion. The rooms are nice, clean, and modern, and the hallways are generally kept very quiet. The breakfast is not the greatest in terms of selection, but then again this is not a 5 star hotel. I would definitely recommend this place as a first option when dropping by Port Elgin.

The room was ready upon arrival, and accessible room with lots of space for me to get around. Nice and clean, extra pillows readily available and front desk staff extremely helpful and friendly. The indoor pool was open late which allowed us to go for a swim without a lot of people in the pool. The breakfast consisted of both hot and cold items, a selection of three juices, tea and coffee. There was plenty of choice eve though we arrived for breakfast just 20 minutes before then end of the serving time The room was spacious and inviting. Close to the Lord Elgin Restaurant - the best place around for fish & chips as well as other delights. Not far from plenty of activities including free concerts on the beach.

Didn't end up staying because I decided I'd drive home that night. A bit expensive too. But the woman at the desk was nice and helpful up until I decided to keep driving.
