Super 8 Port Elgin

Stayed three nights. Staff there very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. Rooms were bright and very clean. Comfortable bed, and very quiet. Pools were nice. Breakfast was quite good too Very pleased with our experience all the way round, and would recommend to others.

For a motel, the facilities at this place was incredible. A indoor and outdoor pool, a gym, sauna and hot tub?? In addition to a diverse free breakfast. I think in all my years of traveling, this was the first hotel I stayed at that had bacon in the morning. From baked goods like muffins and bagels to eggs and bacon. Even this cute mini waffle machine. Place was incredibly sanitary and beds were comfortable. The workers were so incredibly nice. Lady at the front desk even moved us to an available poolside room out of kindness.

We enjoyed our stay at Super 8. Both pools are lovely. Hottub wasn't working which was a disappointment. They also didn't clean our room or change our towels when we went out. Maybe that's not a thing anymore. Overall it was a very enjoyable, quiet stay. Close to so many things. We would definitely stay here again for sure.

JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This hotel is just not worth the price. Very disappointed! If only I could give this 0 star!nnThe check-in was not smooth. We had to wait and stay in the lobby as our hotel unit was locked from the inside and they couldn't open it, they told us to wait. The pools were clearly very dirty from indoor to outdoor pool but the staff insisted they cleaned the pools that day. They assured us that it was safe to swim even though I told them that we had a baby who wanted to swim with us and for safety purposes, I did not risk my baby's life for this. I don't know how they managed to tell me that as the mother of the baby. Also, the carpet inside our unit was filthy. I initially took my slippers/shoes/socks off because I wanted to feel at home but walking on that carpet made my feet muddy. They do not clean the carpet. The hot water when we asked for hot water for drink, the manager just gave us a hot water from the sink faucet and told us they have a different faucet from the kitchen?? When he gave the water, it was so obvious he got it from the sink but just lied to us straightforwardly. There are just TOO MANY to mention for being so disappointed during our stay in this hotel. It was our first time going to this town but they did not leave us a good impression because of our stay with them.

Well shame on me for trusting rates to be reasonable. I had a room booked weeks in advance by an assistant. Having stayed here a number of times in the past, I expected a reasonable rate of some sort for a Super 8. Upon checking in, I was told the rate was $359 per night. A disgusting amount for a hotel of this quality. Upon calling the manager i was told there was nothing they could do. Again, shame on me for not verifying the rate, however upon looking at booking rates, the most expensive rate in the next two months is $195.00. Feeling absolutely ripped off. Not to mention on hold with front desk for 25 minutes. The quality of service, amenities and cleanliness does not justify $359 at this hotel, regardless of how busy it is.
