We visit here because we always thought they served really good karaage. It was amazing, came up crispy, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. We ordered ramen as well, and it was okay, I always thought the texture of the noodles was not exactly like traditional ramen noodles, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Regardless, the taste was good. Recommended to fill those late night cravings!
It's unfortunate that I have to give this restaurant a 3 star. I've been here before it was kind of mediocre but that was pre-covid so I thought I'd give this place a try again. The kind young gentleman was fantastic. He was kind, polite, welcoming and apologetic. Management should have staffed another server to assist him. The poor guy was running around taking and delivering dine in and take out orders all by himself. And because of the lack of support he did get my order wrong twice. I ordered 1 black garlic thin noodle with egg and 1 spicy ramen thin noodles and a chicken wing app. He was bombarded with orders and patrons so he brought my order wrong twice. I didn't even want to bother him to correct my meal. As for the food itself, the black garlic was disappointing where there wasn't any visible floating black oil, flavour or fragrance. If I didn't know, I wouldn't think it's black garlic. The spicy noodle was average. Nothing special. Their online menu and in-house menu differs as there are beers they don't carry. Overall I wouldn't come back on purpose.
We wanted to try Japanese Ramen elsewhere so we tried this place for the firs time and it turned out very satisfying. We ordered koroke appetizer was little oily but not bad. And garlic Ramen which I loved most eventhough it wasn't spicy. Miso ramen was good too. Only chashu rice was little too mayo and salty chashu I hope they reduce the amount of sauce. Edit: We visited again and so far so good : I felt less salty compare to other ones.
Meal for 2 - Black Smoky Garlic Ramen • Takoyaki • 2 Pop + Karaage One of my favourite ramen restaurants Love their ramen. The broth was so rich and jam packed with flavour. the Karaage was sooooo good it’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Came here with a group of friends for a birthday. The seating could comfortably hold 3 on each side so we had to split between two tables. Our table ordered the black garlic ramen and it was great. The broth was creamy and not overly salty. Depending on your preference, you may enjoy the thick style noodles it comes in. As someone who loves their ramen eggs to be slightly runny inside, I thought these perfectly complimented the bowl in taste and texture.
Tasty authentic ramen house! Been here numerous times for both lunch & dinner ! Reasonably priced tasty food. Plenty of parking conveniently located just in front of restaurant. Highly recommended!!
Shoyu Ramen - Really enjoyed the hot broth and the taste of the noodles with the runny egg. Black Garlic Ramen Overall good solid ramen, wish the quantity was a bit more. Korokke The Korokke was really well done wish the quantity was a bit more, felt like they reduced the amount given.
Ordered: Black garlic ramen: barely can’t taste the garlic, soup wasn’t tasteful, just salty. And can’t seem to find why the noodle could stick together like a take out order. Karaage: plain, taste only mayonnaise sauce. Diet Coke: never severed. For non-asian: give it a try, judge on ur own taste. For Asian: run, babe run
Bayview and Major Mackenzie location in Richmond Hill. There are other locations at Yonge & Eglinton and another on Queen West. This is the first time eating at this ramen chain. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff. I like the two large chalkboards on the walls with the artwork. Vaccine passports checked at the door. Contact tracing via QR code at the table. Menu is also on a QR code at the table. Small plexiglass screwed to one side of the table to help with separation from other tables while eating. They appeared to be understaffed with only two people on the floor serving foods taking orders, screening customers for dine in, and handing out take out orders and most tables were full. There appeared to be two people in the kitchen cooking. We ordered 1. Fried tofu appetizer: not good. Tofu was hard and dense and the batter was also hard. 2. Black Garlic Ramen: broth is creamy and has good flavour. Egg yolk was more cooked compared to other places 3. Spicy Ramen: good broth. Was actually a good level of spicy-ness. The noodles were much too hard for my liking. I should have asked for it to be cooked to a softer texture. The ramen comes in a plastic bowl. A bit pricey for the portion compared to other ramen restaurants. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment so it’s unlikely we will return.
Just found this in my pocket. I have to say this is always my favorite restaurant since I came to Richmond hill five years ago. I ordered a Shoyu and the same karage . The Raman is delicious, as usual, and the karage is very juicy. Absolutely a thumbs up with a rating of 9/10.
