Delicious food! Great atmosphere. There is indoor seating. We opted to sit outside in the "back yard". There is also seating out in front of the restaurant. Service was great.
Italian restaurants all thru Chicago but this one that the late Anthony Bourdain really loved. Come see for yourself what the hype is about. The grilled calamari was a lovely presentation unlike any I’ve had before. The scallops were delightful and entirely too in expensive for what you get. Such a great value. The special of the day when we were there was the striped sea bass and it was still under $30! What a deal! Our server and his support staff were remarkably attentive and professional. A++++
This was the perfect place to bring our bachelorette who is marrying into an Italian family. The food was amazing and the staff were truly so accommodating when I had an issue with our reservation. On top of it all, the food was delicious and the bride is still talking about the seafood linguini special. Will definitely be returning for a date night soon.
Went here for a friends bday. Service and ambiance was excellent and the portions were generous we had enough to take home for leftovers!!! Probably the best cooked chicken we’ve ever had in Chicago. What a gem of an Italian restaurant. Must stop by!
We stopped here for a late dinner after attending a Second City show. The pasta is truly amazing, the atmosphere is lively, and warm; all great staff. Feels like one big neighborhood gathering. Our experience was memorable and I can’t wait to go back! If you’re vaccinated you’ll feel safe - if you’re not you might be better off getting takeout but don’t skip out on this place!
Love the environment and good service. Calamari was only okay. Main courses were good, but I was a little disappointed given the reputation led me to believe they’d be great so I am being a little more critical. I also found the menu to be a bit limited. Good espresso martini. The dessert was the highlight for me. I’ve had a lot of tiramisu in my day but I think this is the best I’ve ever had, which is why I’m giving it four stars and not three. I do want to go back and give it another shot because I’ve heard a lot of good things!
The pasta was delicious! The place is pretty busy and some areas are small small spaces between tables. Unfortunately the chicken/ sausage dish that we got was really dry.
Went for a quite enjoyable mid-afternoon birthday lunch. Servers were very attentive and catered to our every request. I had the Mediterranean sea bass which was delicious and my guest had the white fish entree which was equally appealing and quite popular menu item. We finished the meal with Sauvignon Blanc and their flourless chocolate cake which was absolutely DIVINE!!
Based around an old cartoon topo gigio is a delicious homage to Italian food. The portions were very generous and the waitstaff were very nice. Will definitely be back :
Great Food. Cozy and nice place. Great service. Highly recommended for good Italian food. Comparable to restaurants in Italy. I had a great Sea bass fish in Venice and had one here. They were both awesome. Fresh Cheese and Calamary was tasteful.
