Neat outdoor patio space with great service. Feels more inviting to me than some of it's surrounding neighbors, and I bet it's really charming at night. The food is pretty good. The pizzas were fairly standard and although the spinach arugula salad was tasty it was just sort of thrown in a bowl. Fairly priced beers!
Delicious food with reasonable pricing. Made reservations before hand. Waited about 30 minutes to be seated. I specifically reserved for the main floor and the hostess attempted to take me to the basement “Tiffany Room.” Our server Josh was not very attentive and kept hiding in the back of a small room behind the bar. Our food was delicious almost everything we ordered was served by other staff. Would definitely visit again for the food. Recommend their Allá Vodka sauce with any pasta options.
I would have ranked this a 5 but the waiter was kind of a jerk which I didn’t appreciate at all. My friend recommended this place, and I’m always down to review new places. I was actually celebrating my birthday dinner with a good friend of mine. We did not enjoy our table placement but nothing we can’t shake off. But our waiter was just a rude, and seems like waiting us was hassle for him. A big no no for me. My tip reflected that as well but not okay for this industry. Be kind to those who are kind to you. Especially when you are spending more than a few bucks on a plate. I ordered one of the dinner specials which was a risotto with shrimp and peas. Fabulous meal. My friend ordered the Fumigato which she liked but prefer my dish more. We split the salad and bread. Ordered two espresso martinis which took a total of 17 minutes to receive at our table. Consistency is key, no espresso beans to garish the drink off either. Just over poor performance from our waiter, the staff refill our waters were nice.
Lovely Italian place with historical set up. It even has a wall of honor next to the bathrooms. The indoor dining is nice with the vintage furniture but also outdoor backyard is cool too. Food is overall tasty but no single item stood out for our dinner that day.
I got the gluten-free pizza and was very impressed. Fresh ingredients all around. The staff was kind and helpful. I was able to sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy the sun during the afternoon. This is a close walk to everything in Old Town. I want to come back sometime soon for the pasta. This is an old school Chicago tradition and now I realize why it’s been around for years.
This place was just wonderful. Great service, amazing food, loved the decor and the building, loved the piano player and the impromptu performance from Emily. The salmon vesuvio was spectacular!! Great choice for our last dinner in Chicago.Food: 5/5
Sweet cozy place with yummy food This is the second time I am here with my Fiancé. And we love this place. Ambiance- beautiful. Smaller space but well maintained. Wait time- if not reserved, about 90min Bar- has bar seating and variety of cocktail and wine options. Noise level- Average They have a beautiful Piano area. They say they sometime. Never seen anyone playing though. Food- my favorite is Jalapeño Gnocchi… I JUST LOVE IT. No comparison. I took one star off because of the manager. We had just finished our dinner and our server came with check and said that the manager has asked him to ask us to go because there are people waiting. Excuse us mr.manager, We were seated 10min late from our reservation time and you are asking us to leave just because you couldn’t manage the reservations. Also, We heard two parties standing by the bar area and talking about inconvenience to them because of reservations mismanagement. When we mentioned we still need to order dessert, server talked to manager and then got us the menu. Our overall experience was good and loved food.
I was dining with coworkers and I ordered the Spinach tortellini with Vodka sauce. Despite the large number of people, the wait staff knew who ordered what, and when this pasta got to me, I wiped it clean. Delicious, smooth, and filling. The interior also adds to the ambience. It's great for any occasion.
Went over here during the weekend. The service was not great. For some reason, they were rushing us during dinner but it was only at 7:00 pm not at their closing time. They forgot to serve us the bread as the starter, and the waiter did not get my correct wine order also our waiter did not bother to ask if we want any dessert at all just shoveled the check in front of us, we did want dessert and we were not ready for the check. I was very surprised this old neighborhood restaurant has such terrible service. The fumigato and risotto was light on flavor not well seasoned
Came here with a friend on a crowded Saturday night on the back patio and sat im the back patio. We had some pasta and desserts: - spaghetti of bolognese and meatballs - rigatoni w sausage and pepper - tiramisu - cannoli Everything is quite affordable but in return the food is okay. Otherwise, the place has great history and great location in old town.
