Great campground with amazing views of the lake. Sites are very spacious and clean. Restrooms are clean too. We booked P16 site and lake was right outside the site. Views were amazing and site was very clean. Cowansque lake is a big lake and we can drive boats too. It's a hike from parking lot to reach the campsite. Their is very limited network here , so be prepared accordingly. Highly recommend this place for a quiet, amazing camping experience.
Nice campground on a beautiful lake. Had a blast kayaking and fishing. My only complaint was when our neighbors moved into the campsite next to us and placed a rope light around their camper that lit up the surrounding 12 campsights so bright at night that you could no longer see the stars and made it hard to sleep at night. I guess there will always be self absorbed people that don't notice there are other people in the world. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others just hope your timing is better and hope the green people aren't next door.
Very nice campground. Very well thought out. The campsites were large and clean with a firepit. My only complaint was the bathrooms were not very clean this year. Other than that it was a great place.
This place has spacious gravel or paved sites, some with FHU and lots to do! Fishing, swimming, or boating! Did I mention the beautiful sunsets?!
Would have been a lovely experience but we experienced theft. While we were away from our campsite, someone stole our dog’s lead. We asked the “camp host” for help and nobody seemed to know. We are still unsure if it was the campers beside us, or if it was a park ranger/camp host. Lock your things up if you camp here.
Beautiful area to camp! You can completely unplug at the lake! Close to town but nestled in nature!
Made reservations for the weekend of May 19-23. Weather was beautiful really nice campground. The reason I gave it a 4 star is because the grass was not mowed around the sites and was very high in the site we stayed in. I also gave it a 4 star review is because we were in site #34 and there was a leaking spring or seepage from a leaking water line that made site very wet, muddy and sloppy. We couldn't walk out of our door without stepping in mud. I will be calling about this situation so hopefully it will be fix so others don't experience this.
The price is great, the location is perfect. Designated swimming area, boating, tubing and fishing. The bathrooms/ shower house are clean and the water pressure is great. Laundry mat is handy. The lots are a great set up. Fire ring and grill in one. Picnic table in every camp site. Paved drive way. Love this place
We loved this campground. The sites are very spacious and quiet. Beautiful scenery and well maintained. With a beach and boat dock available, there is lots to do on the water; fishing, swimming and boating. Kayaking seems to be the favorite water sport. If we come through this, way again we will definitely make a return visit.
Lady at check in is less than pleasant. Could not enjoy the weekend as every couple hours we were getting yelled at for our vehicles being on the “grass” which was actually just overgrown dandelion weeds on there narrow spots to park. Absolutely not enjoyable as the volunteers to the park pretty much harassed us the whole time even after we would attempt to move the cars closer to the point if they were side by side you couldn’t get out the drivers door or if they were parked on in front of the other they were bumper to bumper and one was sticking out in the road. The people who run and volunteer the place are too crazy and nit picky to actually enjoy your camping trip. Nice view however.
